Why do people SPAM on websites?

Good day to all my fellow mylotters in here I would like to ask some reasons why people wanted to SPAM on websites is it. 1. Do they like to have fun spamming on websites? 2. Or they want publicity of their websites? 3. They want other people to come on their websites? 4. Or they just want to ruin the high priority of other websites? 5. If your answer is none of the above now can you share about your own personal thoughts with regards to this.

the ever increasing volumes of image-based spam email are bringing more annoyance to internet users, and how to filter it has become a pressing problem!

well if that websites enable the backlink for comment and weblik. i think they will spam that site to put many of backlink to their website. so that their website pagerank will increase. hihi.
