how to make extra cash through data entry

Hallo guyz, I just read a lot of articles about how people have made money through online data entry. How is it done, what are the best sites for online data entry. Are there sites that can give you these jobs without asking you to pay some money? Sometimes I tend to think that most of these data entry sites are a scam? Has anyone had a good or bad experience with online data entry?

Please stay away from those sites offering data entry jobs with a fee (registration fee) attached. They will take your money, make you work for a month and then inform that all the data that you have typed was wrong, therefore they will not pay you anything. Some even cancel the membership and forfeit the membership fee. I myself was a victim of this. If you really want data entry entry jobs, then try the Craiglist, Getafreelancer or Odesk. Once you register (it is free), you can bid to hundreds of jobs. Happy hunting
