It's that Time of the Month Again

No, I'm not talking about a female issue at all, I'm talking about near the end of the month when you see all of the duplicate discussions from people that are hurrying to try to reach their payout. Seriously people, there can only be so many discussions about how you eat your pizza or what flavor of ice cream that you like to eat. If you are trying to get to your payout, you should take the time to attend to discussions that you've already started or just respond to more discussions that other people have started. You will probably be more successful if you do this. So, has anyone else noticed an increase in duplicate discussions at the end of this month, or do you think that there are fewer this month because of last week's double earnings day?

Honestly I don't pay that much attention. I do try to come up with something a lil more interesting to mention. I know I won't be making pay out this month & that's ok... I'll work hard and next month I'll reach pay out. I don't worry about it too much

Well I was on a forum and still kinda host a board and they don't pay anything for my time not one red cent. Atleast here I get some compensation for my time and opinions ect.

I do like the fact that we are offered some kind of incentive for the time that we spend here. I've never hosted another forum, but there are a few that I am somewhat active in and the reason that I am there is for fun. The reason that I am here is also for fun, but there are more things to talk about here than the other forums that I've used as well.

I am a lot like you, I try not to stress myself too much about making payout, although coming in to this month I had a personal goal in mind and I am happy to know that I did make it. Next month I will probably make another personal goal as well because I had fun trying to do what I had set out to do for each and every day.

I expect that some people just want to reach their personal goal. I only made it once during this past year. I am not original with discussions as I mostly post bout family things or what has happened during my day or week. I'm really rubbish at discussions! Ah well, my lunchtime has finished and so now it is back to work. Just as well I have a job now that 3 of my four children are unemployed. We have to do some brainstorming for ideas this New Year. I wish for you and your family a very Happy New Year. Blessings

Cynthiann, your discussions are always great because they almost always give me a laugh. I really think that you should consider taking up comedy for yourself. You are just too funny most of the time.

I have never really noticed I just wade my way through.I mostly answer discussions only making a few of my own.Sometimes I make payout sometimes it just does not happen.I must have missed the double earning day new to me.Probably busy with christmas and new year, that is why there are not so many discussions posted.

I'm so sorry to hear that you missed the double earning day. It was on the 22nd of December, right before Christmas so I suspect that there were a lot of people that were not around that day. It was a great gift to receive. I used to be quite the same as you are with making payout only some of the time, but after I did it two months in a row I decided that I wanted to try to make it every month with at least a penny more than I had the previous month.

I haven't really paid attention, but yes, I've noticed this in the past. I try to post something fun or of curiosity to me, and hopefully of interest to others, even at "that time of month." LOL One thing I've done ever since joining MyLot is to reach my payout each and every month at least a week before necessary. That way, I always have some left to begin the new month, and don't have to do the last-minute rush thing. Karen

I am trying to do the same thing that you are as well as far as reaching payout several days before the end of the month. That way I know that if something comes up in my real life I don't have to stress about reaching the goals that I have set for myself.

i find that i have few notice this problem, although it would happen in many discussion and increase money, maybe my payment would be fewer this month, but i dont care about this, actually i earn few,so i only think about my happyness in mylot and gain what i want, that is enough for me.because i could not expect that i can earn much in mylot.

I think that you very well have the right philosophy. I'm glad to know that you are here for your happiness as opposed to trying to get rich.

I just had to respond to this discussion because I liked your topic and the way you used it to get people's attention. Well, you certainly got mine. Personally, I'm such an irregular myLotter that I have never managed to reach payout even once. But, there's always the dream, and tomorrow is another day, right? Lol.

That is one of the things that I've noticed when starting a discussion. If you start the discussion with a very catchy heading then it is more likely to get a lot of responses. You will eventually reach payout and when that day comes, you will be thrilled about it. Good luck and happy mylotting.

i know what you mean. a lot of people will come up with any type of topic just to make it to payout (myself included but i like to think that my topics are at least relivant!)

Relevant topics are okay, it is talking about your favorite flavor of ice cream and the toppings that you like on pizza that really do get on my nerves. Seriously, you can go through the first 20 days of a month and never see a discussion in the pizza topic, but then just a few days before the end of the month you will see that as an active topic.

hi dorannmwin oh yes I sure have and its towards payoff time' and lots of near repeats. You gave good advice and I wish more mylotters would take it. I know I need to tend to my own discussions as I have been putting it off. I got so busy responding to others discussions yesterday I just palain bypassed my own discussions. Now maybe if I was to make a new one on pizza eating it might be fun, but then nah. too many already.

I hope like you that there were more mylotters that would take this kind of advice. I think that it is important to maintain integrity in the discussions that you are starting and seeing so many times that there are discussions that are severely duplicated has a tendency to get on my nerves sometimes. So, how do you eat your pizza?

i tend to skip over them and don't exactly keep track. there always appears to be plenty - over this period i have noticed an awful lot of repeat christmas and new year discussions but at other times you have the usual water/pizza/icecream/coffee/2012 duplicates. they are slightly irritating when you have to scroll through a few pages to find something more interesting.

I agree with you and I have noticed that this month it has not so much been the typical repeat discussions that I have become accustomed to over the past several months but instead holiday related duplicate discussions.

Hee hee - with that heading, I sure thought you meant the female issue! I see duplicate discussions all the time anyway, but I mostly don't keep track of them - so I hadn't noticed that people do the mad rush at the end of the month. I try to skim through the many myLot paths and jump into discussions that I can put some input on - and sometimes I will respond to those silly duplicate ones for the heck of it. Yep, those one liner questions or answers won't get a myLotter very far here. I wasn't able to take much advantage of the double earnings day last week . . . of all days, it was a seriously busy day for me to even be on the computer. But I'm not bummed by it . . . my earning is what it is here . . . no biggie . . . it's just nice to be able to come back to a place to where we can discuss things . . . even if it is about my favorite flavor of ice cream - hee hee.

When I was trying to think of a catchy topic, that was the first thing that came to mind because I figured there would be people that would jump all over it because it sounded like a provocative subject. I'm sorry to hear that you weren't able to take full advantage of double earning day. I was here, but I wasn't able to contribute as much that day as I had hoped to be able to do. Just like you, my earnings here aren't what gives my life it's livelyhood, that is just the extra money that I am trying to save to get, I'm not exactly sure yet.

Funny you should say this. I never thought, and never noticed repeat discussions at the end of the month. I did see one yesterday, where a more veteran myLotter responded to the discussion saying... you've raised this discussion two months ago. And when I looked at the discussions raised by this user, he/she did have some repeat discussions.

Wow, I myself have never noticed ones where it was the exact same person that was starting the same discussion over and over again. But, I know that it could happen. Thank you for sharing your input.

Wow, I hadn't noticed that. I wasn't a member last month so I can't say whether it's better this month or not.

Well, here is a belated welcome to mylot to you. I hope that you enjoy your stay and I also hope that you will be one of the newer members that doesn't post very common discussions in hopes of making it to payout.
