Do you think cats can really talk? And if you do what do you think they are trying to say? Can you imagine if they really did what stories they could tell us? Kinda scary you think?

I read somewhere that cats can meow in ways that sound like human words. I was pretty much like yeah whatever but then one night my cat said hello...

I once heard a cat say "Rrropen. NnnOwww!" I kid you not. And the owner, who lived downstairs from me, let him in! Now, I really don't know that cats "talk" as we understand the term. I mean, they probably don't sit around and talk deep stuff, but they do seem to communicate with each other and often with us, because we do pay attention to what they are "saying." They tell us they are hungry, or the water is out or they miss us, I doubt they would care about things outside of their understanding, but they sure can let us know if they want something, even something as basic as - PICK ME UPPPPP! (that would be Tony reaching up like a 2 yr old does to be picked up.)

I doubt very much that cats actually speak words like we do but I swear that one of my cats Rosie tries to ‘talk’ to me all the time, she looks at me and makes different sounding meows depending on what it is she is trying to say and, although I have not heard actual words, I must admit that at times she sound almost like a human! Our vet actually calls it ‘talking’ when cats do that and she guesses that it is just another way for them to try and let us know what they want. I don't think it's scary at all; kind of cute actually!
