I have seen this thing on TV and was wondering if anyone here has ever tried it. It looks like it would work pretty good but...I have 6 cats and could probably use more than one. Don't want to waste my time with it if it's not made very well. Thanks in advance for any input.

I can't tell if the product is really not just cardboard (that's what it looks like to me) and that's not going to work that great as an "emery board." I just take my nail trimmers, get someone to hold a cat and snip away! and just so you know, I have a goodly number more than 6 cats...

wow 6 is enough for us! Yeah...it kind of looks a little like cardboard or something that just wont last very long....that's why I thought I would ask here. Maybe some one has already bought one....nail trimmers work great if you can hold them long enough!!! Thanks for the reply.

My mom and I are both going to buy one. I am hoping it gets my cat to stop killing my furniture. I can't wait to have it in my house. I have a scratch pad with cat nip that he only plays with.

I haven't purchased this product yet, but to me it doesn't look like that great of a product. I think it is something you would have to purchase frequently (especially since you have 6 cats) because I think it would rip up and get very dull after repeated use. I have a scratching post for my cats and when I spray it with catnip, all they do is roll all over on it instead of scratching their claws on it. Fortunately for me, my cats only do scratch their claws on the post and not my furniture. I think you should probably save your money and pass this one by unless of course someone on here has actually tried this product and says that it works great and lasts a while. I hope that is the case because I did want to try it.

Cats are like people. I too have seen the advertizments for the board, but its success depends on the cat. Now you have to ask yourself a few things before trying a product like this. 1. Have you introduced your cats to cat nip? 2. How did they react? 3. Have they gotten into fights with each other over it? 4. How well do they get along with each other normally? If you answer no to question number one, then you need to slowly introduce your cats to cat nip before introducing them to a product that has cat nip embeded in it. With the cat nip being embeded it won't be nearly as strong, but the reaction should be the same. If you're introducing your cat to cat nip for the first time, do so one at a time and gage their reactions. Then eventually put them in the same room. Do this slowly before buying a cat nip product. Now if your cats take a liking to cat nip, (and all this of course implies they have never been introduced to it before) success of use of the board depends on the cat. Be paicent, each cat will react to it differently. Now to directly answer the question. No, personally I haven't used it with mine as of yet. Our cats wouldn't take to it because they aren't that keen on the catnip embeded within. If anything it would cause hissing matches which we don't need.

WOW!! Thanks for the reply. Yes all my cats love catnip...they get along fine. Sometimes a couple of them hiss at each other a little but that's because they get all worked up...but they are actually having fun. They know it's like a treat. They come running when they hear the sound of the metal tin that I keep their nip in....it' pretty funny. Well, thanks again:-)

I think it would probably work if you have a cat that already likes scratching on a carpeted type post. I wouldnt expect greatness if your cats are not already big scratchers, as the cat nip may not be enough to bring them to the board. If you try it please let us know how it works!
