Do you live in flat or open villa?

I always have a habit to live in open villa where there is a big garden and where I play or sit in the evening. I have never lived in a flat, and always think how people live in a closed flat where no garden or fresh air is possible.

I would say i lived in a Flat..However we call them apartments here in the states...I live in a high rise on the third floor..We have a community patio on each floor..I believe we have 4 of them here on this floor..We can decorate them as we wish and they are tables & flowers growing and we can sit out there &get all the fresh air we need...When i walk out of my apartment you just go about 10 steps & there is a long patio, with an open consept where you can see the flowers, and traffic and its nice ....

Hi coolcat, I live in the outskirt of a small town. My house is a detached building. Therefore it has lands all around it. I like to live in it for it has many windows. We do can grow vegetables, flowers and fruit trees in the courtyard around as well Since we are not living in downtown area or unban district therefore we could hardly find any flat or apartment in my area. But nowadays there lots are of terrace houses are available here. All the terrace houses have to share the common walls on both sides except the corner house has its own wall on one side. My two brothers live in terrace houses. I find the air in such house is rather hot for windows are available on the walls of the front as well as the back of every house only. Moreover there is only a small piece of land in front of the house to grow plants I still prefer to live in our detached house. The air in it is cooler and fresh all the time. And we have spacious compound to grow plants or to park cars or to have other activities like BQQ, etc. We do have more privacy as well for our house is not so close to our neighbors' Happy posting !

It all depends on the location of your house..sometimes flats are also very beautifully built..and they have lot of fresh air and sunlight...my house is very old structured..and many relatives live close to each other...so there are very few windows....i sometimes feel that the flats where my sisters live in metro cities are better than mine......i am planning to have new house...maybe soon have one

Before my marriage, I used to stay in a house. After my marriage, I shifted in a flat, where there was no contact with the other people in the building. There was no one to talk to you. You felt so lonely out there. Then I moved to a builder floor. I am presently staying there on grond floor with open garden in front and lot of open space in the backyard. Open house with lot of air and space to move around. We are now planning to buy a house in a colony. We have a fingers crossed and really need blessings from GOD who will help us have that deal.
