What kind of person were you in school?

Were you a bully, did you know it, and are you still one? Were you considered an outcast or a weirdo? Were people mean to you? Did you try to do what the "popular" kids did? Were you really popular or a wannabe? Did you change your look or go through phases? Are you totally different now or did you stay the same?

In high school, I ran with the popular kids. But back then, the popular kids where the ones who did good academically. I was always in the best class, although not the best in the class. My best friend was the Valedictorian. In any college or university application he did, I did too. I think that helped me in a way to get to one of the best universities then.

I had a similar experience as you. I chose a college preperation public school. Everyone was insanely intelligent even the troublemakers, who were probably some of the smartest. I had friends who were jocks, drama and A.V. geeks, and foreign kids. We all got good grades and enjoyed our time in school. During my elementary and junior high experience I was not popular because I was quirky, smart, and I wasn't trying to be like a charicature of a stereotype from t.v. or movies. But in highschool I had more friends than I ever thought was possible. And even better was the fact that the traditionally "popular" people were the outcasts. You could not be a one note or one sided personality type of person. Girls who were snotty and mean even though they were cute almost never had dates unless they were from other schools. One girl who made my life difficult when we were younger came to Central because she thought she was going to be popular there because she wouldn't have the competition that exhisted at our old schools, but she was still a b*tch so she never had any friends. She made it on the J.V. cheerleading squad junior year and her own team mates wouldn't even hang out with her. There were football players on the chess team, and latin club members on the football team. A lot of times if you weren't in a club then you didn't have a life.

Just shows you that a b1tch in sheep's clothing is still b1tch. And that school is whatever we make of it. Even outcasts can be popular too. Unfortunately, what we see in TV is sometime in real life.

During my schoold days, i'm quite shy and I don't talk that much...as a result I became not so competitive like my classmates. My favorite place in the world during my school days is the library. This is where I make homeworks, review for exams, do my research, and for leisure I read the latest magazines and newspapers. I do study hard but I'm an average person. Everything for me is in moderation. I could have fun with my friends or I can be super nerd sometimes. Most of my subjects in class I pass, but one of my favorites are reading and literature and art. Everything which concerns numbers, I simply don't excel...I don't know why, maybe I don't have an abstract mind to boot such complicated numbers. But in a nutshell, I enjoy being a student and I will forever cherish such wonderful experience.

I loved literature and art as well. My junior and senior year were great because I spent the first two or three periods in the art room. I also read several books a week. My brain was really a sponge back then.

I actually haven't changed much from my school days. I was somewhat quiet but I didn't fit into any of those groups you mentioned. I pretty much was myself and I was friends with all types of people. I got along with the smart people, the sporty people and even the weird and outcasts. I also never really followed the crowd, I actually couldn't care less about half the things that were happening at school. Now that I think about it, I really didn't socialize a lot. The only people I really hung out were some of the other Asian kids and that was because most of us were friends since we were little.

Hi Tawny_24 I was very quiet in school and very shy, I just listened to the teachers and did what I was told. I was always picked on though alot of the girls wanted to beat me up so my parents moved me to a private school so I didn't have to watch my back everyday. It was scary. I'm so glad I'm done with High school.

I also enjoyed all of the fun times I had with my friends in highscool. I didn't have any fun before highschool, but once I got there I discovered how great it can be to have a good time. There were sad moments and it is the little things that change.

...Hi tawny, When I was in school I was sort of quiet and reserved, I am the oldest in my family and I think the oldest child tends to use the parents as role models. So I carried myself as if I was older than I was. My thoughts were not as youthful as my peers. I was not of the popular crowd, I was just regular I guess, but although I acted older, I was younger in age than my peers, because I had been skipped from kindergarten to second grade and I graduated High School at 16. I am more outgoing now than I was then. Take care.

Hi tawny_24,Well,during my high school days,i was so shy but my teachers trained me how to be confident and how to carry myself.Honestly speaking i was popular in our school because of my singing as talent.I was able to compete literary musical contest, distict, division and regional levels. My teachers was so proud of me because i won, bringing the name of our school. Now at my age,i've just recalled how active i was, participating all those extra curricular activities in our school before. Now,i'm a stay at home wife and mom to my children.Have a nice day!

I can say that I was just a quiet kid before, well until now I still am although I think I had improved and gained a little confidence. but back in my elementary and high school days even though I was demure I was still a bit popular, maybe because of my friends and background. now, I'm still shy and quiet but I try to mingle more now.

Hi,Yes, i did try to do what the 'popular kids' tried to do.In all those trials i could succeed only at studies and sports.I was good at studies but not a topper again. I tried singing but failed miserably.I was very jealous of people who sang well.I always wanted be a captain at school but could never become one.Yes i did try to bully people when i was in school infact till high school but later felt very sorry for that.In other words i was a jealousy girl.Right now i have changed a lot.Stopped bothering about others and started minding my own business.

I never bullied and will never because it is not cool to do so. I am shy in the sense that i can do one on one but ask me to go infront of a class (not comfortable). I guess my mother built alot of confidence not to want to be the popular girl and the school i was in helped alot. for bullies were not tolerated.

I was really blessed to have gone to the highschool I attended. After going to elementray and junior high with the same mean people I went to a school that had almost no cliques. There were cheerleaders taking latin, and Jocks in french club, there were nerds on the football team and everyone was cool regardless of race. There were a lot of hipsters, and being a hipster at the school I went to meant doing whatever made you you. Even the teachers were cool.

I was an "outcast" from the more mainstream kids. Me and my friends were involved in everything, knew people in each clique, but didn't really fit into any of them. I'm kind of the same now, where I have a wide variety of friends and am just me. I don't worry about trying to fit in...I did a little bit back then, but so does everyone!

So why were you a bully? And did you ever figure out a different way to deal with people than pushing them around?

I was definitly not a bully. I hated bullies. I was the weirdo lol. I was not one of the popular kids. When I was in elementary school I had a lot of friends I was pretty popular. I was always really hyper and way to talkative so I was always getting in trouble. In high school I started having major depression and I only had a few close friends. Pretty much everyone else hated me. I always had this weird issue where I enjoyed getting under peoples skin. If I could annoy someone it made my day. I looked for anything I could to drive people nuts. My neice is like that now which is really weird. She is exactly like me.

i was very shy and i use to speak very less and very quite person. I hardly use to do friendship with my classmates. It was really very dificult time for me to survive in school time but it was quite ok time. I would love to go back that time if in future we come up with any procedure like that we can come up with time machine.

When I was in highschool and the years before, I was more of a nerd or just a regular average student more than anything else. I wasn't popular or anything but I did know some popular kids. I didn't follow what the popular kids were doing. I didn't really care for them unless I was friends with them. I can't say that I wasn't a wannabe though. I did want to be popular but not desperately or anything. I think throughout my schooling years, I did change. First it was from better to worse when I was younger, then as I got older, I started to change for the better. I matured a lot and my styles started to change too, though I am still into some of the styles that I use to like a few years ago. I wouldn't say I'm totally different from when I was in highschool, but I would say that I have changed a lot.

I was quite an average girl, not someone very popular nor one who sits at a corner all the time. I had my group of friends,we used to enjoy quite a lot among us. I never imitated someone in order to become 'The Popular Girl'. I haven't changed much but definitely with time and experience you get matured and practical, otherwise my basic nature is the same as it used to be.
