ok I would have to say I go with the cartoons and family flicks during the day when the babies are awake but at night I LOVE to grab a bowl of popcorn and watch a scary movie. I was very disappointed with Paranormal Activity. I mean yeah it was a little creepy in parts of it but I think maybe the problem was the fact that I had very high expectations for it. I was expecting it to be the scariest movie I've ever seen because thats what a ton of reviews said.... although I watched it at my home so maybe it was scarier in theaters. So i dont know overall I was very dissapointed. What did everyone else think?

I have not seen this film yet but my 16 year old son went with some friends to see it and he was also very disappointed with it he felt it was a waste of money. He said that he did not find it at all scary and was very disappointed with the way it ended. Apparently there is actually three different endings the UK version, the US version and the actual footage which they will not show as they say it is far too scary.

I don't watch movies like that unless some girl is insisting, but I knew it would suck, why else would they beg people to bring it to their town.

In the US the movie was not shown in every theatre nor every state, they actually made a petition on facebook, to get the movies to the theatres, and people had to generate enough buzz to get a showing in their town, I'm sure those same people were like why did I waste my time...lol

Funny you should say that,Jesf. I was at work tonite and a girl came in and was talking about it like it was the best scary movie she'd ever seen. She strongly recommended it to me. I haven't seen it but was thinking maybe on my next day off that I should. She said what made it so scary was that it was so realistic.

Isn't that so funny how people can have such different views on a movie they saw. you get a handfull that say it was the best and a handfull that say it was terrible. This movie I believe is one of those for sure. I dont know maybe its the type of movie that it was. I am really into the paranormal stuff and love to watch documentaries about encounters people have had so maybe I just dont look at it as scary as some people do. You will have to let us know what you thought of it after you see it. I mean it was a good storyline and it was based on true events which makes it interesting. I just dont know why but I was very upset when the movie was over. I am interested to see what you will think of it. I think this is very interesting getting people that say very different things about the same exact movie :)

i really thought about this movie when the trailer was out. reviews were saying that this movie was one of the scariest movies made in ten years. i watched it in cinemas and thought it was a satisfactory movie which means that for me was an average. i liked how they showed the paranormal activity where the door opened and closed it self and how the women was dragged across the floor. despite this, the movie was overall boring. nevertheless, the movie did have a little affect on my security. i would find it hard to walk through the dark streets fearing the ghosts. I wouldnt really recommend watching this boring movie. You can give it a try as I heard some people walk out the cinema because its soo scary. Some of you guys might be in that category!

Not very scary I would say. I watch it, and didn't find it that much of creepy at all. It might happen to someone before I heard of. It is pretty similar to the blair witch project. But it just happen in a haunted house without the reason why it did happen, and why the ghost chosen this girl particular. I would just watch it like a documentary.

I can understand your dissappointment, but i have to disagree. I thought this was an awesome movie! I watched it in the theatre like the movie was intended, kinda like blair witch. When i went to see it with my nephew the movie was sold out untill the next showing, two hours later. So already we were dying to see this movie and now it's sold out for two more showings, it really adds to the intrest in the film. So we show up 30 minutes early to the movie to find the theatre packed!!! We were lucky to even find a pair of seats to sit next to each other. Anyway the movie itself, was pretty awesome. I don't scare easy but that one got to me. I think the fact that it wasn't a ghost made it a bit scarier. The fact that the previews for this movie showed some of the most intense parts of the film was a little dissappointing, no very dissappointing. I just hate it when they do that to you. Your sitting watching the movie and you say to yourself when does the guy go flying at the camera? Oh, wait there he goes. kinda takes away from the film. Overall I still liked the movie. The ending is what got me! When her face changes and looks so inhuman and she darts at the camera whith that horrifying scream plus everyone in the theatre is screaming, whoa! I had to turn all the lights on when i got home. Plus it makes your spouse seem alot more scary.

Yeah I think maybe if I saw it in the theater it would have been better possibly. I dont know I watch alot of the shows on tv about "paranormal activivty" so maybe that stuff doesnt scare me that much anymore or something. Im not quite sure because yeah all the people i have talked to about the movie say im crazy and it was so scary and everything so im not sure why this one didnt get to me... i wish it woul have though i love that feeling of getting freaked out when watching a movie!!

yeah you will have to see it and then let us knwo what you thought of it. I dont understand why they do that...put all the best parts on the preview, it makes no sense to me at all. It is just such a huge let down when that happens!

I thought that it was quite interesting, but like you, I didn't find it that scary. That's probably partially because I've seen so many horror movies that I've been desensitised to them though. I liked the handheld camera style of filming, and the fact that the actors were unknowns. The cinematic ending fell a bit flat though, but there is supposed to be another one floating around the internet.

That could part of my problem is I have seen so many. see I wasnt so sure of the whole camera style at first i thought it was going to be really irritating. But then after awhile I thought it was a pretty interesting choice I mean it did make it seem like it was more real. Yeah the DVD when rented has an alternative ending, not any better than the original one though.

The movie was awesome..actually you cant really make a horror movie with ordinary home camera and the effects was usual but realastic and you should know a fact that Steven speilberg was also scared of watching this movie and he even switched off his television because he saw something moving and then he saw the movie with his friends in the morning..it really has scared many people including me,because i was really scared for the next few days watching this movie.. Happy New Year 2010!!!!!

Happy New Year to you aswell!!! Yeah Im not sure why it didnt scare me because so many people that I have talked to think im crazy and they all say it was terrifying. I just dont know, I love paranormal stuff and the shows on tv but a few of them are just so stupid and fake .... I think maybe I was expecting more activity than there was or something, it just wasnt enough for me.

Yes.You are correct in the sense ,that many had expectations from this movie ,as if it would really someone scare, but it was not able to create that type of atmosphere really. But movie was not that bad.You HAVE to give credit to it even if it really didn't sccare us.
