Best Response - Any Guidelines or Hints?

Being new here and just starting to create new discussions, I am not sure what the correct usage of the best response is. Do you wait a certain length of time before choosing? - 1 day, 2 days, a week? If you pick a best response a person that is new compared to someone who has a very good rating, does that cause problems at times? Any other suggestions would be appreciated as I will admit that I am a person that does not like to hurt peoples feelings and this option seems to be a way to upset people. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hi mr numbers, try and hold off for about a week before giving them out as per guidelines, and it is entirely up to you which response you choose, but go for the one which you like the most. I've never heard of anyone fighting here over who got the best response.

Hello miss letters and numbers :-) miss numbers here. Thank you for your response! I tried to find the answer in the faq, but did not see anything about a week. I appreciate you letting me know that. I am glad to hear you tell me you do not see people fighting over things here. I have enjoyed myLot so far and did not think it would be a problem, but every board has a quirk or two. I just have not found this one yet. miss number or Kim :-)

Hello, thank you for your thoughtful post. I have now found that a week is in the guidelines and I appreciate you answering a total newbie to myLot question. I did search the faq for an answer, but did not find it. I appreciate your input and will put it to use now that I know.

Well, picking the best response is the best response where in the starter of the discussion was able to realize who among the responder will satisfy his topic. Regarding about the criteria, aside from reading the mylot guidelines. IT is on the starter depending on his criteria be given importance on the said topic. It was a good conscience that you really do not intend to hurt people. But, I for one if not was chosen to be the best response. I honestly accept it. Because there are responders who much know more of the said topic because of related experiences than me. I guess there should be no war about that for this site should unite us one although we came from different countries and views. It is also the same thing as respecting each other views and decisions. So, no hurt feelings. Instead for those who was not accepted as best response, accept it in a positive way to strive by improving himself more. The objective here is to be contributive to one's view, doubts and answer it as descriptive and honestly as possible. Just be yourself that's all you need.

An awesome response! Thank you for sharing your ideas with me. I have found this site to be exactly what you describe it as. I love the fact you find this as a way to unite us all, from different countries and views.
