Jamming cell phones while driving.

With todays technology,I'm sure it's possible to install a device in cars that make it where you can only use your cell phone to dial 911 while driving.Since people are distracted and cause accidents and even deaths because of talking or texting while driving,I think it should be a law that all new vehicles should have this type of device installed in them.Would this keep you from buying a new car?Or is your cell phone more important to you than another persons life?

I'm not in favor of jamming cellphones when driving. There are, however, other alternatives to avoid accidents. First of all the very reason why accidents happen when talking or texting on a cellphone is because the driver has his/her one hand on his/her cellphone or he/she might had to look into the phones screen to type in the text message, which eventually cause accidents. I'm not sure if you're aware but there is already an existing technology where you can install a gadget in your car where you will plug your phone into it and your phone will be automatically on bluetooth headset. Some technologies use the rear view mirror and place the bluetooth headset in there so you can make a phone call without having to hold your phone in your hand.

It is not advisable to jam cell phone with driving. The driving of a vechile is a curious one which needs more attention on the road. If you mix cell phone while triving the attention on the driving will be diverted, which may cause unwanted things to happen. So usage of cell ohine with driving should be avoided completely.

Hi, oneidmnster. It would be fine with me. I am not one to talk on the cell phone when I am driving. I would rather the car be still while I use the phone. It would not keep me from buying a new car. My cell phone is not that important to my life. If someone is calling me while I am driving, I will just pull over into an parking lot and check the call out. I don't see how many people can engage in conversations while they are on the roads and highways. Some people that I notice that are on the phone, usually drive too slow or they are easily distracted by their conversation to know what is going on on the road. That is why they should not talk while they are driving.

it is high time for an invention like this. Most people just ignore the possibility of running into accidents while speaking over the phone or texting.Even that is banned by the law, people don't respect it.So,an invention like what you told is essential. Also some peoples fake the law by using their blue tooth.

That would keep me from buying a car. Some people would look at an accident site, call 911,not looking at the road, and then they would get in an accident themselves. I think a device that prevented drunk driving would be better.
