hi friends.seems eventhough the kotla debacle is old news,it has given us some intresting things to debate about.
what was the complaint of the srilankan batsmen?
the ball is rising awakwardly?
the ball is keeping low?
the pitch look bad?
so they walked off.
in the last 5 years,400+ totals were made about 6 to 8 times.
as for india it has been a flat track series.
why the bowlers didnt walk off those 400+ score matches?
they also have reasons to walk off.
like.
1.the ball is not swinging or seeming off the pitch
2.the pitch doesnt assist spinners
3.boundaries are way too shorter.
4.most importantly, there is nothing in the pitch to help them.
the only way they can get a wicket is the batsmen is way too foolish with their shot-selection.
why they never walked off?
may be they thought the pitch will assist them after 20 overs or 25 overs or 34th over or may be the second new ball or even the last 10 overs?
the bowlers are willing to risk everything hoping that something will assist them why the batsmen are not willing to wait?
7 awkward rising balls out of 23 overs is a good enough reason to abandon a match with all those bulky protective gears

That was not the reason my friend. I am upset too that the match was called off. But you should think about the srilankan batsmen too. If the ball is not helping the bowlers then no-one gets harmed. We enjoy seeing every ball hit to the boundary. But if the bounce was unstable then batsmen can get hurt. You are saying that 7 bowls bounced awkwardly in 23 overs but it takes only one ball to ruin a batsmen career or if not career than waste some precious months of his playing career.... think about that...
