doing away with antenna tv?

I saw where legislators are trying to do away with tv recieved by external antenas. This tv service is free. I know of several people who do not wish to pay for cable so this is all the tv they have. There are still some remote areas also where cable isn't available and satillite is expensive! Should we be able to have free local channels? Or should we all be required to pay for tv?

I love those old antennas! Heck, one could see a lot after climbing to the top of one of those things. Well, at least me and my friends did when we were kids. ...course, my folks weren't impressed...ruined reception. ...sounds like another "money grab" to me. People SHOULD be allowed to watch TV anyway they can receive it, as far as I'm concerned. cdrxo

Yep, gotta agree with you there. It should be free, the companies purchasing time are paying for the broadcast!

I believe everyone should have their own choice if they want to pay for TV or not. So they shouldn't be thinking about getting rid of antenna TVs. Some people can't afford cable or just don't want the added expense so they stick with regular TV.

The commercials pay for the service really. I think tv should be free. I don't like the idea of being forced into purchasing cable so I can keep up on the news and weather. Especially during toronado season, or snow events!

Back in June is when they got rid of tv. antennas.I felt against it because I earn low income and I was using one.I had to subscribe to satellite tv.Satellite is cheaper than cable and has better packages,so I went with that. The thing is I don't even watch much television, because I don't care for most of the programs they have on there.

They still have antennas here. My daughter has an outside antenna and the people I stay with do also as well as others. Maybe they are doing away with some and keeping some based on area or something. I won't subrscribe if forced! I'll just watch lts of dvds!! I do most of my news online anyway!

They are not getting rid of antennas. The NAB is a bunching of lying dirt bags. See my comments below. They are attempting to prevent companies and the government from providing everyone with FREE internet access. This internet would travel over the "snow channels" directly into your home for FREE and it would be faster than any cable service. PLEASE SEE MY POSTS BELOW.
