Happy New Year, we had about an inch of rain last night and our creek is flowing again. We are still 4 plus inches of rain short since September when our water year started. We pray for good snow pack. In California things are even worst.
Tromping around in the mud is not fun but we know that Summer will come when we really need the water so we put up with it. It is kind of funny when you walk in the field and come back an inch or two higher due to the mud you collected. I wish we had pictures of that. All of this is just the cost of living in the beautiful country in NW Oregon USA. And for that we are truly thankful.

We suffered from heavy drought last summer here in Australia, the state of Victoria has been in drought for almost a decade and our rainfall has been down for five or six years resulting in severe water restrictions. It has improved a little this summer but we are still below average with the rain. I do pray that you get all the rain you need where you live and yes the mud would be worth it I would think...

Our winter is without rain. It's a dry season. It's a season of vegetables. We experience heavy rain in summer. The fields become full of mud. In this season
the peasants sow seeds of crops. Sometimes heavy rains causes flood. Vast area become submerged under water. So this season is not always good for us.

We have been in a drought for around three years until now. We have had water restrictions at time when it was really bad. This past year has taken us 20 inches above! I am so thankful. Our farming community has really suffered both ways. Threee years not enough and then this past year..to much. Hopefully this coming up season will be that happy medium...lol.

Weather is strange...so much is dependent on it. I live where we have the great lakes on three sides of us, and we often measure how much or little rain we need by the depth of them. We've had our share of rain in the past two years, but they are still low, as years of drought preceded that!

actually i find that raining weather this year is few,so the crops grow up is not better than before, especially as for our farmers whose income depend on farms harvest, the drought have effected for our income,we have plant sugancane this year, because of lack of raining this year,so sugancane growing is not well.so i find that the drought effect crops much.

There have been a lot of areas suffering drought this decade and I hope this means that your drought is done! In Texas it refused to rain for years then it flooded. I hope it's a bit more gentle for you and NW Oregon gets the water it needs.

Hi pat! I do hope that you get all the rain that you need. I
know how awful it is when a state is in drought because we have
had that problem here in past years! Not lately since we have
been having very rainy summers and winters in the last few
years. We did have a bit of a surprise snow yesterday! Only
a few inches, but it warmed up a bit today so it is all gone!
Just was a bit strange to wake up yesterday to snow coming down
pretty heavily and the weather forecasters just going Duh?
