Have you joined the free cycle in your area?

My sister actually introduced me to this yahoo group the other day. It is a group that provides people in your area to offer items to people that they no longer need.It is called freecycle.org. Everything posted on it must be for free. I recieved a tv. A lady in my area posted she no longer had use for it, and I needed a tv for my daughters room. We met at a local mall, and I got a tv that is in great condition for free. It is a great resource in our community.
Has anyone else used this kind of group? Does your town have something like this for the community?

I tried joining free cycle in my area but I had to wait for acceptance to the group and never heard anything back and it just ends up that who ever adds people hadn't been online and the group had just been badly neglected.
Maybe I'll try it again....I have a lot of things that I would gladly give away if I could find someone that would take them.
