Skinny jeans are out in the market long before it has become very popular. Nowadays it's hardly possible for you to not spot someone wearing skinny jeans on the streets. It's everywhere. I do not like wearing them actually. I only have one pair, and it was something my sister handed down to me. I always struggle fitting my legs into it--very uncomfy. Good thing mine is stretchable, so the hassle is less. I prefer the straight leg type. How about you? Do you have skinny jeans? Do you love wearing them?

Hey mjcookie! Skinny jeans are my favorites! I have really skinny legs and a small butt and even though I am an "older woman" I like my jeans to fit! I hate boot cut jeans! I have so many pairs of really "fine" boots that I want to be SEEN! When I wear boot cut jeans they just don't fit me right! Even if I buy petites! And I am by no means skinny! But, I am small in the places like the butt and legs! So, sorry I am loving my skinny jeans and so is my boyfriend (who is 11 years younger than me)!

Hi cookie! I really loved your response! I had no idea how old you were until I looked at your profile! I love talking to the "younger generation"! And I was one of the biggest MJ fans ever! I am sending you a friend's request! Hope you accept!

Wow, I love the cougar attitude! :) Well you don't have to say sorry if you love them--we have different preferences here so it's perfectly fine for me if that's what you favor.

No I don't. I didn't like the look even when I was younger. They just look like tight denim leggings to me. They go with very few outfit because they are so unfeminine. They also (like you said uncomfortable). Even the stretchy kind. I like straight leg jeans too, it seems like they go better with my outfits.

What makes my sole pair of Skinnies even more uncomfortable to wear is that it makes me itch. I don't know what's with that Skinnies of mine, but I think that is one thing why I am not a big fan of them. I am not saying that all Skinny Jeans are like that, it just happened that it was what my sister gave me. I like the look of the straight cut better.

I don't like them. come to think of it, I don't think I have any jeans anymore at all, but I really don't like skinny jeans. they're so unflattering. I mean a few people can look okay in them. you have to be a bit on the chunkier side with muscular legs to carry them off I think, because they make peoples legs look so thin and shapeless, you need a lot of shape to get away with it. what I really hate is when you see very slim people wearing them and it makes their legs look awful. like twigs, or worse still, parsnips. wider at the top and really narrow at the bottom. I just think they're really unflattering on about 95% of the population

I don't have skinny jeans because it is not going to be fit on me. I don't have a good pair of legs and I think skinny jeans is fit to slim people and it looks good to them. When you are in the heavier side like me it is uncomfortable and it is not look good on you it going to emphasize your bigger legs.

do you really think thin people look good in skinny jeans? because I think it can look so mis-shapen and skeletal.

Twigs? Haha, funny description. :) Well I think they make people's legs look sexier, no matter how skinny or stubby those legs are. If I'd have to admit, they look good on me. It's just the comfort factor that bothers me. Plus, I've just read about the health hazards of these jeans, yep, health hazards. They can make the legs go numb, like your floating or you have just left your legs behind.

Hi Antiquelady. Well trends target specific groups of people. Like this specific one, it mostly caters to people who can fit in them and rock the look. Happy new year to you, too! :)

I am going to have to drop 20pounds if I want to wear skinny jeans. I'm 5'2" and weigh 130 pounds. I would look really silly in them at my size. My age too.

I just talked to a friend in America. She told me that at our age, we don't need to were them, and aren't expected to were them. Thankfully they are not in style for middle aged women.

Good day, CatLady! Ahaha, you are not alone. See the other responses? Some of them say that they're not skinny enough to fit in them, too. It could be true, but it doesn't have to pressure you at all if you can't wear them. You know you don't always have to follow the trend just to fit in. What's important is that you have your own style and you are comfy with it..

That's exactly why they're called Skinny jeans--you have to be skinny enough to slip into them. :)

Skinny jeans? - Tight body with skinny jeans.
I'm a little confused here as to what is referred to as 'skinny jeans', perhaps someone can elaborate a bit more? Well first of all, let me just explain myself a little bit: I'm a butt man so naturally I'm into a 'phat' (mind you, not "fat") booty. So by skinny jeans, are we talking about the kind that can be found hugging phat booties (obviously this would be somewhat stretchable of course) or is this something for girls who are thinner in shape (by thinner I mean no hour glass figure). No offense to any girls here or anything like that, just expressing my opinion and trying to find a little more about this.

Well I wish I could have seen more of the photo you just added, especially the end part, which distinguishes it as Skinny Jeans. Unfortunately I still haven't reached the number of posts so that I could upload another picture in this discussion. But to enlighten you, I uploaded a photo of it that is right below the description of my discussion. Anyway, Skinny Jeans are those that taper in the ends, and they are called that way for 2 reasons: a) you have to be skinny enough to slip them on, and b) they actually make your legs even more shapely and slender. There are stretchable Skinny Jeans (which I have) and there are non-stretchable ones, the type that is harder to slip on.

Hi Mj I have a few pair of skinny jeans, but I only wear ones that have a lot of stretch and are the proper size for me. Also, I prefer wearing them with long tops. Skinny jeans that are too tight can actually be bad for the health, as they cut off circulation! Most of the time, I prefer jeans that are straight-legged or classic cut...again with some stretch and in the right size. I cannot stand to wear clothes that are not comfortable...even dressy clothes must be comfy :)) Karen

Yeah that is what I am talking about. :) The whole health hazard thing, it can constrict the veins therefore blocking blood circulation and numbing the legs. If ever I'd have to buy one it also gotta be stretchable.

I just don't like my own pair; anyway it was just handed down to me by my sister, but the narrow ends are very uncomfy for me. Anyway thanks for the response!

But I've seen plump people wear them, too. They have also offered bigger sizes already, if you're on the chubbier side I think you can have them. those have bigger legholes but of course they still narrow down the end.

Yes I like wearing skinny jeans but I can't because it is just for females and I am a male. But now times are changing. I have seen many males on the streets wearing skinny jeans. But they look like jokers. You will see maximum males those who wears skinny jeans they are from Thailand, Singapore, Burma, etc. Thank you.

If you want to wear them, then do so. I've also seen a lot of males here in the Philippines already wearing them--it has also become a trend for them, so if you want to follow it, then you are free.

Personally, I do not like Skinny jeans at all. I have a curvy figure. I am not fat but I am hippy, no matter how much weight I lose, I still have big hips. So for me, the skinny leg jeans do not look good on me. i think I look somewhat like a mermaid in them. I do prefer flare leg jeans still. Maybe they are considered out of style, but I think I look good in them and look sexy in them. I have more of an hourglass figure when I wear them.

A mermaid, LOL. Flared jeans are not out of style, I still see a lot of them. Well, what's important is you are comfortable and you know that it flatters your figure, out of style or not. :)

I have never liked skinny jeans. To me they just make people look anorexic. That is just me. I don't enjoy the skin tight pants and find flairs to be much more enjoyable. Also my mom has been wearing skinny jeans for years. I do not like them, and I dont want to wear something just because it is "in" now.

Who knows? The Skinnies today might lose its popularity some time, giving way to bootleg cuts again. :)

I am hoping for that. Trends seem to come go and come back again. The trend I want to come back is poodle skirts, and clothes from grease. I rather see a guy in a tight black shirt, then baggy to their feet. Same with jeans. I am so sick of seeing boxers everywhere I go.

My daughter is really in to the skinny jean thing. Not just any skinny jean though..lol..they have to be rainbow colored..LOL...She is very loud with her clothes. For me..I do have one pair that I wear with my favorite boots. I like them because I don't have to worry about tucking the flair leg in. The rest of my jeans are flair leg though. They are my favorite.

Hahahaha! That's funny! Rainbow-colored skinny jeans. Oh yeah, the Skinnies are great with boots, especially knee-high boots. They are tapered enough to fit in them. I see a lot of that celebrity look on TV. :) They rock it.

I FREAKING LOVE SKINNY JEANS!!! That's all I wear as for jeans. I just love how sleek and finished they make you look. Way better then those baggy boot leg jeans. I don't know something about flare jeans just reminds me of back in the day. I think that skinny jeans just complete your outfit, they look so hot with heels and boots. Basically anything. If I am not wearing skinny jeans I am wearing leggings. I am definitely happy this trend came back. One of the main reasons I work out is so I will look extra good in my skinny jeans. I just love how they make your legs look long and skinny and defined. They are not for some people though, the more hippy girls might opt away from skinny jeans because it creates kind of a muffin top. They are for some people, and I hope they always stay around in the trend market!

Almost all of my pants are skinny jeans. I am literally skinny so I love wearing skinny jeans and fit clothes too. I feel comfortable when I am wearing this kind of jeans. I also like looking myself at the mirror wearing this. I cannot explain but every time I wear bootleg or other types of jeans, I am not really comfortable. Well, I often use and wear short pants, skirts and pedals but when it comes to long pants, I really prefer to wear skinny jeans. We have different likes and dislikes so I understand if you don't like it.

I just don't like the discomfort Skinnies bring me. They really look good on me, but it's a challenge for me wearing them. I don't like bootlegs that have really wide ends, because they sway a lot when I walk. Semi-flared ones are better for me. It's the straight cut that I like the most. :)

I wear skinny jeans because it is the trend here at my place. I do not love to wear them but since i wanted to fit in I have to wear it even though I'm not that comftable with it. But now i'm trying to wear straight cut jeans because I'm more at ease with it.

That's the very thing that can make your legs go numb. I don't mean to threaten you, by the way, the condition is not life-threatening and it goes away in time. :)
