Should sportsmen tested positive for drugs be given a second chance?

I just saw a report on TV about a jockey who was banned from racing for 6 months for being tested positive on drugs. He managed to get his career back on track by starting again in a lower league after his ban was lifted and working his way up. He has been given a second chance. Do you think there should be second chances after positive drug testing in the competitive world of sport?

Everyone should be given a second chance. Now the person in question should be benched for a while, to give time to think about their misdeeds. Then they can be allowed to compete again, with being in indefinite probation. Basically, what I mean that if they mess up again, then they're done for good.

I think you are right. Everyone would hope for a second chance if they make a mistake.

It's their right to be given a second chance. Murderers is given a second chance after being jailed, so why they don't? But i think the authority should keep watching them from doing the same mistake.

True, it will be the same situation with murderers, even though I think that's definitively the worse crime.
