Letting Go.

When we release control and invite the universe or a higher power to work on our behalf, we create more openings for abundance and happiness to flow smoothly into our lives. Much can be said for grit and determination, but a narrow and stubborn outlook can also create limitations when it isn't necessary. When we let go of our desire to control the details of how our goals are realized, we find things falling into place in ways that we never could have imagined.By remaining open to all possibilities, we allow that higher power to create better outcomes than we could ever orchestrate on our own. For some it's just "let go and let God". However we view it, we can be sure it will work if we truly let go.

This concept has been presented in many different guises. In "Star Wars" a jedi could do complicated things accurately with his eyes closed by letting "the force" work through him. Others have said to let "God" take control. It does not appear to me that this method would be effective in handling some of the situations that arise in a person's life. If you just let go and cease to be in charge of your life, does that absolve you of responsibility for things that go wrong? I have been down many mountain roads with a heavy load, and there is just no way I am going to let "the force" or "God" or "tao" drive my truck. It is important to understand which events you can control and which are pretty much out of your hands. You must release yourself from the things you cannot have any effective control over. But for the things I can control,I take responsibility. If it goes well, it is because I handled it well. If it goes badly, I messed it up.

Hi trruk, Thank you for commenting and we do agree. It is only after you have done everything possible that you turn it over to the universe. To continue to worry and fret after we have done all that we can is useless. It is than that you place your problem in the hands of a higher power and relax. I have seen answers come when I let go and relax that I would never have thought of if I'd continued to worry. It's very simliar to trying to remember a name, the more you try the more it evades you. Change the topic of conversation, and the names pop into your head. Blessings.

It is true that sometimes when you have wrestled with a thorny problem, the best way to solve it is to walk away from it for a while. Something inside your mind keeps searching and when you are thoroughly involved with something else, bingo!--there it is. I have done that with writing many times. I get "stuck" and I just do not know how to begin the next paragraph. I finally give up and do something else and when I come back to my work, it just flows. So at least in that sense, the best way to solve a problem can be to ignore it. That does not mean the best solution to that funny noise your car is making is to hope it goes away. "Letting go" can be valuable in two cases: problems that cannot be solved and problems you cannot figure out right now.

I like your discussion here. I partake this on an angle of revenge and hatred in the hearts. No use in that, and it's best to let the anger and hatred go. Flush it away and never to be thought of again. It is only going to do more harm than good. I like it when you say in a way like if we let go, and just leave it to God to destine our fate. Sometimes, the course of journey of life will become much more favorable after suffering for a few years. Humans need to learn to let go. Good topic as always, Pose..

This is such a great post - however - I find it easier said than done. I think that letting go of the control the hardest. But, I try to remind myself that - the right thing will always happen no matter what - and it does. Whether "the right thing" is what you wanted to happen - that is another story!

The less you stay alert to all input given in your existence the less you learn and grow. You need only to extend your attention and to do this you must restrain all the tendencies to remain in your comfort zone. It's like the animals who hibernate for half of their lives, if we allow ourselves to do this we will miss half of our lives. You can stay alert to new things without becoming committed to being anything more than an observer. For those on a spiritual road this is recommended by all who have gone before. This is not easy as you will find if you read the lives of those who went before.

pose u r the best so far that i c coming with conversations that i just got to read, and make comments to,the 5 destructive passions of the soul are (1)greed (2)lust (3)vanity (4)anger (5)attachment now u r talking about attachment, learning to detach, letting go,the greatest of all the destructive passion of soul is attachment, when we learn to detach ourselves from the love of the materialistic way of the system and the world itself in which we live daily,we allow the universal current of gods' love to flow through us more, allowing us to be more of that ripple of which u spoke of,then the other four passions cannot control us cause we have detached ourselves from the systematical way and worldly belief,we have become so much of, attaining the power to let go,we will live in the knowledge that we live in the world, but let not our soul and consciousness be too much of it, may the blessings be

Yes, Letting go is a better alternative than planning for revenge because usually a positive mind can create and open new doors to a better future.

hi pose123 maybe thats what is wrong with the things that have'happened to my and my son. I have been narrow and 'stubborn about all the dreadful things, not expecting any good to happen. maybe I was holding it off instead of letting abundance and happiness into our lives. I have not let go and let God as I was always taught that God helps those who help themselves. so the secret is to truly let go. great discussion. thanks much.

Hi Hatley, Thank you for commenting and I'm sorry to hear that things have not improved for you and your son. I feel that we are to do everything we can to help ourselves, but after that we must leave things to a higher power. There is nothing more that we can do so why worry or get angry, just relax and let God or the Universe, or whatever term you want to use take over. It is something like when you are trying to remember a name, the harder you try the more difficult it becomes. Later when you've forgotten about it, the name suddenly pops into your mind. My thoughts are with you and your son and I hope you will have good news soon. Blessings

It is not easy to let go of control for many. It is mainly possible for those who is aware of the existence of the divine and divinity within oneself, who knows that by letting go we are welcoming the divine to gain control over our lives. Yes, Pose123, by letting go we are actually happier and more contented with life compared to when we try to control and maintain control. Have a nice day.

You wouldn't happen to be a taoist would you Pose123? Much of this 'philosophy' is based upon letting go and letting the eternal tao lead the way. I really agree that this is the best way for me to live my life because it makes me feel whole all the time instead of in flux.
