My friend and I are really truly looking forward to a great new year, oreo is changing her attitude and starting to feel much better about herself, this is something we all need to do!
Looking forward to a bright new year is wonderful and inspiring but I got to worrying did any of you have good 2009?
For me the good parts of 2009 were
1 - after a two year battle my boyfriend finally was accepted for disability. He is an amazing man and if anyone deserved it he certainly did. The man was hit by a car and left for dead at the age of 15. He was in a coma of 9 months and the doctors that he would die. He came out of a coma and his leg was so badly injured they though he would never walk ago. By sure will power he made himself walk, though he walks with a limp and now as he is older he walks with a cane.He gas been in excruciating pain since then no medication can relief his pain and he has gone to university got a masters in business administration worked for big accounting companies because he is an accountant and presently runs his own business. However as he gets older the pain gets worse and he is unable to travel as much as he needs to to run his business. He applied to disability to years ago and he was refused because they said he could still work, his doctor was absolutely shocked. So she sent him to a specialized who signed that he is 100 percent disabled and cannot no longer work. Finally after the appeal he was granted disability in 2009 and now the pressure of making a living is a little easier on him. I am thankful for that.
2- I made good money writing in 2009 the best year I ever had
3- With my earnings I was able to buy a new computer as mine had busted (it was 11 years old and finished. I was using a borrowed computer for awhile and oreo can tell you it was hell the darn thing would not work right. But I got a new one.
4 - My mother bought me a brand new stove as mine was completely finished.
5- I changed my mind about the law of attraction and decided to give it a shot. This is why I believe I was able to get the computer and even though I didn't buy the stove I was able to get that so quickly as well.
6 - I made some new wonder friends online
7 - My writing opportunities are continuing to open up and I am a staff writer for factoids and the montreal mental health examiner for examiner.com
8 - My grandson came back to us. My son and I harder ever saw the boy since he was born. My son being his father and me being his grandmother had to wait for contact from the child's mother. She was always moving twice out of the province. Now since October we see him quite a lot. He lives within walking distance for anyone that can walk. I can't walk that far in the winter. But this truly is a blessing.
All in all event counting in the negative parts of 2009, 2009 was a much better year for me than I have had in at least 7 years.
how about you what are your good points about 2009

It's such a pleasure to read that your boyfriend was finally accepted for disability. Reading his story has touched me and he has done so many things to try and work, even though he has had a really hard time being in pain allmost constantly (if I read correctly). My father is in somewhat the same position, having serious back trouble and being in pain allmost 24/7. They have said he can work aswell and currently they are still looking into the case because luckily other people have seen that this is absolutely not possible. I hope his pain gets recognized in 2010, so that 2010 will become his year. Thank you for sharing the story.

Thank you for the comforting words, Winterrose. My dad has had backpains for a long time now, he even managed to find work for 20 hours a week (and that he could manage at the time) but he was forced to work 40 hours a week. It went downhill from there on. Instead of applauding the fact he had found work he could do and which he loved they made his backproblems worse and now he can't work at all

thank you for your story too, I certainly hope that you father gets the disability he deserves in 2010, yes my boyfriend lives with excruciating pain every day of his life since the accident when he was 15 years old. He says he is so used to the pain he would not know what to do without it.

The best part of 2009 was that we finally saved up the money to take a little mini vacation. We stayed at my favourite hotel in Toronto. Walker had never been there before, but I had stayed there before and I loved it. We were happy to escape somewhere for a couple of days.

In 2009 I went to a flea market and found this guy(he kind of old enough to be my dad)who sells books, lots and lots of books.Whoa this is my kind of heaven...The best bit was since I was a repeat customer he gave me his number and invited me to dig up his shed.He kind of looked familiar and turned out to be the tech guy at my university,so it wasn't as creepy to visit his place since I kind of knew him.

Rose I am so happy that all went so well for you after the Struggles you have had
In my Case 2009 was a lot less Stress then there has been for 40 years, which for me is a Start
I went into the New Year for the first time in 40 years without fear, crying and wondering what was going to hit me this time
So slowly but surely I am getting there
Money wise well I guess I will always be broke lol but that is nothing new to me,
I am more at Peace

Actually 2009 was one of the worst years for me in a while....It started out bad wiht my bf trying to kill himself and "Nanny Marylin" dying and ended with my MiL being on her last weeks (she took herself off all her much needed meds a couple days before Xmas) and my male parental unit trying to contact me for the first time in 23 yrs. Every thing in between sucked too..My hubby lost his job in April, money got tight so I had to babysit right through summer, my health has been up and down....the bf fell off the wagon again and we split up..it was just one thing after another.....
2010 WILL be different or someone is getting hurt

I got to see my honorary nephew, Nigel, who is a big boy now. He's 12. And his little sister Mya. It was good that I got to go to D.C. and Atlanta with ADAPT. It was good that I got a job at Examiner.com and good that I finally started working on the multi-cultural independent living center newsletter which has been discussed for three years now. It was also good that I had my poetry published in more places and made the semifinals of a few competitions.

Hi winterose! It's great to know that things went so much better for you in 2009, and I hope that they will continue to improve in every way to make your life better. For the most part it was a rough year for me, but I'm incredibly good at bouncing back. I always take the down-but-not-out attitude, and it has served me well. Surprisingly, I am eagerly looking forward to this new year.

hi winterose,
WOW!!! what a year for you!
I hope you'll have more wonderful success such as that this year and years to come. Mine, uhmmmm...
2009 is a good year for me, I was able to help my family and sister and I got to buy stuff that I need especially for our house. I hope that this year I could do more and help my family more. 2009 is a blessing for me and I have learned a lot of experiences in that year.
