Are you able to sleep in noise?

Normally when we are sleeping there is a constant noise which is ignorable and we are able to sleep, however when its late night and every thing is quite and a single pin drop noise is disturbing. Last night i was late from work and was trying to sleep but the tap was making noise then i fixed it. after sometime the clock was ticking - tic tak tic tak- that was disturbing. i manage to sleep. Did you ever faced this type of situation. share your experiance.

I have a problem sleeping in the winter time due to the heat kicking on. It will keep me awake or sometimes just makes me wake up from the noise of it. I can't stand it. Otherwise it is so quiet in my area I love it in the summer time. Its just so ignoring to hear the noise. I need complete silence to sleep and I can't sleep with earplugs so I'm not sleeping to good till March when the weather will be warmer and I hopefully won't need the heat on.

For me it depends on how tired I am. If I'm tired enough I can sleep through about anything, but if I can't sleep, (like you were last night) the slightest noise can sound so loud. I know you didn't ask me for a suggestion but try unwinding instead of heading streight to bed. For example, when George gets home it takes him an hour to two hours to unwind correctly otherwise he's up and down and something as simple as the tip-tap of my keyboard anoys him.

The place where I live is almost located in a peaceful town. The sound pollution is very less here.Sometimes students residing in the nearby apartments play music with loud sound which is quite annoying. However I manage to sleep but my other neighbors complain that they can't sleep due to this noise. We told the students about this but we can't stop them.

I can edure the noise when I sleep. I need quiet, so i do not put clock which can make noise in my bedroom. I am not easy to fall asleep and I can hear the noise. So I should keep quiet of my bedroom.

Hi, Yogesh. I have the deepest sleep that you can even imagine. Once I flew away in the world of dreams there is no way something to wake me up just like that... you can play drums near to my bed and I will keep sleeping. So it's not a problem for me to sleep in noise. Especially when I am really, really tired.

I generally have no problem falling to sleep with noise at night time. Every night I've gotten used to having to sleep with the radio on because my wife has got to have it on otherwise she can't get to sleep, wierd I know. The only noise that would keep me up though at night is the sound of a tap dripping, I just can't stand that noise!!!

I can sleep even when there's noise. I have a hard time sleeping at night so when I get sleepy it usually means that I am really really sleepy. So it doesn't matter for me even if it's quiet or noisy, I can still sleep through it.

Indeed, same sound repeated over and over can bother us more than noises coming from multiple sources. In my experience, when I slept over at a friends place, the sound of the clock is bothering me so much I pull the battery out. :)

I hate noises when Im trying to sleep. Kids banging the bathroom door, neighbouyrs revving up their car, mice scratching in the wall, etc. I solved the problem by running a water cooler all night on fan. The constant humming noise blocks out most other annoying noises.

I find it hard to fall asleep if there is a constant noise. This summer a tractor digging the river was making noise outside my apartment. I found myself hard to fall asleep and had to turn on my radio to keep that noise away to make me fall asleep. Also I can be bothered a lot if one snores in the room. There were a few times when I was on business and had to live in a hotel room with some other guys who were snoring the whole night, driving me crazy because of the snore made. As a result, I was so tired and sleepy the next day...

I prefer quiet, but it is harder for me to sleep with the lights on than with a little noise. It depends on what kind of noise it is, though. If it is thunder from a storm, then I sleep very well, but some other noises might keep me awake.

I can sleep either when it's noisy or quiet really, but I would prefer to have peace and quiet. When I was a little younger, I would have to turn the television on and turn the volume down a little or turn a bedside fan on because I couldn't sleep without a little noise. As I have gotten older, I find it easier to sleep when it's quieter. I still do sleep with the television on from time to time, but I have noticed that I feel more rested and refreshed when I sleep in the quiet.
