I would say my only fear is being afraid of heights. It's pretty common. When people would say don't look down or something, I have the sudden urge to. I hate the visionary I get and imagine what would happen if I fall down hundreds of feet down.

Same thing with me, I'm afraid of heights. This is the fear I want to overcome. I know this would help psychologically because this is all about mindset.

There are times where I fear that someone will break into my house and slaughter everyone inside. I might be paranoid, but I keep my doors and windows locked tight, just in case. Also, I fear going outside alone where there is a lot of snow and ice, along with cold. There is a chance that I might get back in. I could very well slip, fall down, and be out there for hours with no one to find me.

Helicopters hovering over your house and around your neighborhood on his/her loudspeaker looking for some run away criminal.. I go around the house making sure all the doors and windows are locked, I also try to stay away from windows and make sure all the blinds and curtains are shut.. Sounds excessive, especially when I do not live in such a bad neighborhood as you would assume by the above description.. I guess it was a fear that ingrained into me when I was a little kid, and having your parents lying to your face that a murderer is loose to keep you grounded..

I never heard any helecopters, but if I heard all that commotion I think I would react that way.that would scare me.Your parents should have said that, they say alot of things to make the kid listen.

Thanks for the response -- it's not too much of a fear now.. but it's the idea that bothers you =) More of a trauma you could say.

I'm paranoid that my family members will die. I think about it way more than is healthy. And I have to check on them when they're taking naps or something every 10 minutes and if it seems like they aren't breathing I feel like I am having a panic attack. They always wake up and look at me like I'm crazy after wards. And I also have severe arachnophobia. And I'm terrified of mirrors at night. My fears are pretty common I'd say.

I was going to say I have one rational fear and one irrational fear but I guess all fears are irrational. The only real fear is of not being in control of any given situation, and I definitely have a big fear of that. I hate when things don't go as I expect them to. But what would life be like without it's little curves thrown our way? I have a great fear of mice. Cannot stand them! I can't even look at the pet mice in the pet store, or on television. Ugh! Hate 'em. My father-in-law was here this past week and I was telling him about our mouse incidences (sp?) and he said he also hated mice. I had to laugh because he grew up in the country. My biggest fear is in losing my children or my husband. Well, I have to have faith in God. After all, He only gives us as much as we can handle. Good luck to you!

I'm the type of person that gets scared of spiders, heights and (for some weird reason) the ocean. My nightmares also have the tendency to be focused upon these things as well.

I've noticed that most of my fears are rational and are very common. Examples being that I am slightyly claustrophobic and have a fear of drowning. An odd fear of mine is getting in a car wreck and not being able to unbuckle my seatbelt. Because of this fear I always keep a pocket knife in the panel of my door. A little strange I know but it makes me feel better.

i am afraid i'll end up in hell cause i smoke a lot. and i am afraid i'll get ill because of smoking. i am afraid of loneliness, of bad people, of fire, of water, of height. i have a lot of fobies. i'm a scared man, im' afraid to live. i'm afraid to use the internet, i'm afraid to use the computer, i'm afraid of electricity, amd afraid if dogs. but, what we all have to do is face our fers and beat them. and i wish you success on doing that.

I have many fears unfortunately... I fear normal things such as spiders and some insects, but it ranges to being around people, claustrophobic, when people stare at me.. i had a fear of public transport which i'm over now... It's pretty confusing and awkward. :/
