OK my daughter had a doctors appointment today and her iron was kind of low. It was not low enough to put her on an iron supplement so they suggested to just feed her iron enriched foods. Does anyone have any good recipes for sneaking in leafy greens or beans into a dish that she would actually eat for me? Thank you ahead of time :)

Yes the biggest war in any house hold is the veggies war. For me it is still amazing that children do not like veggies and for the life of me, i cannot think why. Okay, let us try this. I hope your daughter is a cheese lover. You go and get yourself a big bag of frozen broccoli or fresh, whichever you prefer. Put it in a baking tray, and now you take a lot of cheese, cover the brocolli, and bake it for about ten minutes or till the cheese is smelted with a small bit of brown crust. Tell her it is something new and you would really appreciate it, if she tried it and give her opinion. You always need to get a childs opinion on food tssting. It is so much more fun. Take any dark green veggies, mash it or bake it with cheese. The taste is notmally better than the looks of the dish and that is why you should get her opinion.

Actually my daughter has always loved veggies. I havent really come across one that she doesnt like. she loves corn, broccoli, carrots, collard greens. I just would like some recipes that i could put some high iron ones in like the spinach. I dont think she would mind the taste but I dont want to feed her them as a side all alone everyday. I would like to make some recipes so she gets new stuff. And yes she LOVES cheese!! I do make a chicken and broccoli cheese bake. Where I put down the chicken, then mix the broccoli with cream of mushroom soup, pour that over the chicken, and then add a ton of cheese to the top. She loves that dish alot, so maybe I could put some spinach in that aswell.

well it would be much easier if you have jack L. power juicer which can extract juice even from leaves but if you dont have that then you will just have to persuade her to eat them.
