Gutzu is one of the 4th cats my girlfriend's parents keep at their house in the town near the mountains. All the other are not scarred as this one is - he only enters the kitchen for eating and drinking water, and he only sleeps inside, when the dogs are out (like it happened this winter), and only then when he can't go out without bumping into the dog and is sleepy can we pet him. When he is hungry if we get close to him he still runs away. I should add that this cat has been here for a lot of time, years, and he always had an easy life, but he was scarred his entire life.
Have you ever had scarred animals in your house ?

AWWWWW, pOOR GUTZU, he must have really had a hard time. i'm so glad the people have kept him around like they have. I have never had an animal like that. I'm sure glad he has a good home.

Well he is not a stray cat since he was a baby, i mean he has been taken care off, with all his vet visits and vaccines and food, water, shelter, it is actually surprising he is still such a coward cat, as the people around him only treat him with love.

I did assume he was a stray that they had taken in. That is very sad he is the way he is but i am very glad he has a good home. Animals can be so human.

My cats can never stay on ground as my 4 indoor dogs are always around. They are always stay on top of the cupboards or on any higher level which the dogs can't reach out. They only come down for their meals. They feel unsafe sleeping in the sofa as my dogs will not give them peace which make them run in all directions when the dogs are on sight.

I have a dog with a small scar but never an animal scarred like your girlfriend's cat sounds like. There is a cat that comes to my house in the winter time and he has a lot of scars, looks very ragged. This is his second year of taking advantage of my free food for stray cats. He likes me to talk to him but he doesn't want me to come near him. He will sit there and purr when I speak to him but run if I get too close. A lot of the cats who visit me are like that.

We have a cat called Rosie. We adopted her six years ago when she turned up on our doorstep. She was in a very bad condition and I suspect she may have been abused in some way resulting in her being very timid which is a shame because she loves people but is almost always too afraid to get too close although she will follow at a safe distance. She has grown close to me and sleeps on my bed every night and sits next to me when I’m working on the computer but she doesn’t enjoy being picked up too much and for a long time when she first came to live with us she was very scared of my husband and any visitor that came to the house especially males. Our vet thinks she may have been kicked or something like that. She is ok with my husband now. I guess she will always be timid but we love her and we know she loves us too!
