What is the main difference between CE & IT?

Previously there was this branch only named computer engg. but due to this IT revolution a specific branch has come up known as IT . This branch deals mainly with software,IT infrastructure, networking etc. Computer branch is a more general one and spans more areas with less details. CE deals more with the architecture of the computer whereas IT not.

True "computer engineer" cares more about hardware,I think that's the difference.
