During the 90s boy bands were popping out like mushrooms. Every month there was a new group formed. Some were successful and some forgettable. Some of them were cheesy while some of them are really cheesy but made good music. Their songs dominated the radio and girls went crazy over them. I wonder why the boy band craze stopped. Not that I like them. The ones you can still hear now are the ones from the 90s and they all got old.

They ran out of ways to torture condemned souls in Hell, so all the boy bands were hired to play an eternal engagement in Hell's Fire & Brimstone Lounge.

What happened is they grew up. It has happened with all kinds of types of music, a few band or singers get popular, then the record labels sign as many bands like those bands as possible. The boy band craze came and went, will it be back maybe but not for a while. The public just got sick of them and their music was overplayed.

Well simply put, the boyband era is over. It boom in late 90s and early 00s, and as they growing older, they cannot sing a song that they sang in earlier career, they can't dance like they used to be, and also the music trend has changed toward rap and hip hop nowadays which clearly not on their league and basically their fans also has grown up. It happens to BSB now where their music is now moving to adult contemporary songs.

You are right, I'm one of the girls who went crazy for them. My favorites are Color me Badd, Back Street Boys, Boyz II Men, 98 degrees, Blue and many more. They made a lot of heart stopping hits. Where are they right now? They have separate lives and maybe they have their own family now.

Most of the bands dissolved due to various differences. Some of the singers are still active, how about Justin Timberlake? He is still active, as well as JC Chase. They are both from boy bands.
How about Miley Cirus? There is still music, not too much boy bands, but music is still being created. Why do you think there are fewer boy bands now? Take care, happy myLotting.
