That is terrible, and how heartbreaking for his family! I had not heard of this as I am in the United States but just looked it up. I was assuming it was crimes of opportunity but read that his face was disfigured so there must be some very sick and evil people preying on the students. Of course there seem to be more and more sick and evil people all over the world! I hope the people are soon found and punished. How horrible it must be to lose a child, a brother, a friend to senseless slaughter.

yes Dragon54u I fully agree with you its both heartbreaking and alarming situation in Australia . Killing in any way is not the culture of Australia but unfortunately some of seek people in Australia are committing such hateful crime I m not sure of the reasons why such things r happening there ..... I have heard Australia is economically and culture rich nation but I m finding sign of distress growing in such a country which has been known for its wonderful way of livings and broad minded people Bigger questions that comes up is law and order situation condition in Australia deteriorating Hare Krishna Ganesh

It always starts with the media. The media is usually responsible for initiating this subconscious idea of people of color being related to terrorism. People need to recognize that we are all first human, then whatever race or ethnicity. People lack the basic idea that we all are more alike to each other rather than us different. When the media brings up a hate crime, they automatically link it to race or ethnicity when most of the time, it has NOTHING to do with it. By doing this, everytime someone commits a crime, it had to be becuase of his culture, race, or ethnicity. This will eventually turn everyone against each other. Fellow neighbors pre-emptively killing each other in fear of something irrational. Thats my 2 cent :)

1) Its because of the discriminations (racial and religious) thought by the religion of those people.. 2) EGO. I dont know why they are attacking STUDENTS? Which is the main religion of Australia?

The victims race has nothing to do with the crime...are there no murders in your country? Are members of other races not murdered in your country?....of course they are. These are not crimes against a race, or about race. The crimes are opportunistic...the victims being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

There is No Race System in India.. Really they are at a wrong place.. The wrong place is Australia. Australians play a lot of mind games in cricket also. They simply make some big controversies and use un-ethical means. Has any Australian been attacked in India? Please tell me..

While I disagree with such crimes against students, we should be aware of why it happens in the first place. Australia like the United States receives tons and tons of immigrants each year. I suppose if your country faced such problems you would also see an increase of racial, religious, and ethnic tension. You can't expect a nation to assimilate or even want to assimilate so many different races, religion, or ethnic people into their country. After all you wouldn't want to see your country change racially, culturally, and be a stranger in your own country .The increase of such crimes is a result of politicians not understanding how people would react to the situation. These politicians are reckless and too naive to see the problems of mass immigration. I don't see it getting any better until Australia realizes their is a limit. Otherwise immigrants will use the law to their advantage and demand special treatment which is often the case. Most immigrants that go to Australia or the United States know you can use discrimination and their laws against Australians. And don't think the people of Australia don't see this everyday. You will call Australians racist and say it's unacceptable but it doesn't stop you from getting educated there or wanting to live there. Crimes against students and immigrants will reach the headlines. However, if the statistics are anything like the United States then its more likely immigrants are committing violent crimes. And guess what? That's our fault too. Our politicians say we didn't help them assimilate.

Hello my friend Ganesh44 JI, It is really worrying equally for both Governments. I tghink, some people are trying to fish in troubled waters as such they are igniting the situation. Both parties should come to table and find the actual reasons with culprits and take remedial action to mainain paece and harmony. May God bless You and have a great time.
