Xbox 360 e74 error

Anybody ever had this error? I searched on youtube and found the towel solution. It's a temporary fix, but I was wondering if anybody sent in their system back to xbox and if they fixed it permanently? I already sent my xbox in for the ring of death and now I get this error...!
