Have you ever made a fool out of yourself on the phone?

I'm just made a total nut job out of my self.I've been waiting for a phone call from the animal society, because they sent me a neutering certificate for my dog. They didn't tell me who accepts it.So I left the place a message to call me back about it.Then the phone rings the person didn't identify themselves, and also their number was similar.I assumed it was the animal society getting back to me.I told the woman that she sent me a certificate for my dog and she didn't tell who accepts it.I kind of argued a bit ,then it dawned on me that this was a doctor getting back to me about making my appointment,I'm trying to get back on meds for depression.I made myself sound like a real nut job that needs mental help here.LOL...It was pretty funny, but I feel so foolish.Has anything like this happened to you on the phone?

Hi Java09. I honestly have and for a moment, could not think of anything specific to mention. However, I just remembered and incident that occurred something like 30 years ago, but in this case, I accidentally made my friend look like a fool. A preacher and I went to Raleigh, NC for some type of ministers meeting and stayed at a hotel overnight. Our wives could not travel with us. So we were in our room when the front desk called. Now, I forget why, but all the front desk knew was that there was one of us in the room--it was rented in my friend's name. Anyhow, let's say my friend's name is Rev. Jones. Well here is how it it went. The front desk calls... Front Desk: Rev. Jones? Jones: Yes? Desk: Your wife called. Jones: My wife called? Upon hearing this PastorP says to Jones: Hey! Ask him which wife. Jones to Desk: Which wife? Front Desk cackles and says: Ah! Ha! So you have more than one wife!
