What is the deal with 3-D?

Why is it that a lot of movies are coming out in 3-D? I don't like the blurred images and the headache it gives me is so not what I want to pay for when I go to the movies. They are even coming out with a new tv that will emulate the 3-D experience! I mean it's great that technology is coming along by leaps and bounds but why 3-D? Why not a full theater experience by creating a simulated movie! Now that would be worth the money to go to!

Just a marketing gimmick they try every so often. They will lose interest in it again soon.

Well, 3-D movie is an upgrade on the skills of movie makers. They would like to continuously find new innovations to make the viewers feel real the scenes. I'd experience watching 4D actually, wherein there are some water coming out, shaking of the chair and air coming out timing with the scene. Its a bit fun, me and my son enjoy it as it almost makes us we are part of the scene.

I don't know either but I guess people want to try watching 3D because they don't want the normal theater experience. Maybe for the movie goer, they are trying to try something new. I payed for a 3D setting when I watched Avatar by James Cameron, I think 3D suited that movie well so for me, I would only pay for 3D if I think the movie goes with a 3D setting. I don't think I would have payed for 3D for movies like superman though.

Well, they need to figure out new things to make money on, and if you have proper 3-D maybe you don't have to worry so much about the plot? You assume people will se it anyway, since it is in 3D.
