Another Child Killed - This time by Grandmother

A little 5 year old boy was killed by his 71 year old grandmother, Marianne Bordt of Florida. She drowned him in the bathtub. The grandfather was out running errands and when he came home he found his grandson in the tub dead. She attempted to commit sucide in the Gulf of Mexico but was unsuccessful. According to the Police, she killed her grandson because his parents were divorcing and she didn't want him to be raised in the household. Meanwhile the parents divorcing were still friends and it was an amicable divorce. The grandmother had to have snapped. When I saw this on the TV I cried because still yet another innocent child is killed. Its just horrible that this keeps happening to our precious children. I feel so bad for the parents and the Grandfather. She is charged with first degree murder and is under sucide watch. In the state of Florida, First Degree murder is punishable by the death penalty.

I just can not believe it
How can anyone kill a child as it is anyway but for the own Parents or Grandparents to do it is just scary and awful
How are Children suppose to trust when they can't trust the People that are suppose to care and love them, how are they suppose to feel safe?
This world is getting worse by the Day

Hi lelin, I think that it's terrible when such things happen and it happens far too often. Here the grandmother must have been insane and at the time thought that she was doing what was best for the child. I feel that this also has to be true in other cases as well. Blessings.

I just can't imagine that your mind can snap just like that. I can't understand because if she was really sick the grandfather would not have left the child alone with the grandmother. I can't imagine what the grandfather is feeling at this time. I don't know these people but I'm so sick in the stomach over this.

That is so horrible. I cannot imagine how any of the family is feeling over all this. How could you handle, knowing that your mother, wife, grandparent did such a thing. It would be so mind boggling. She really must have snapped. People are doing some very strange things.

Yes I have seen an increase in parents, grandparents killing their children in the past two years. I don't know what is going on but its really horrible.

Omg that is so horrible... How sad... I can't beleive it.. I don't understand how people think sometimes.. It's not right. I remember hearing about a mum who shot her son in a shooting range and she said it was to protect him..... That is so wrong on so many levels....

Obviously the grandmother had a warped mind to do such a ghastly act and get caught as well. No normal person could take such steps and so perhaps she would be examined for any phychological disoarder.

Something had to happen for her to do something like that. She must have a mental illness or she forgot to take some medication. Its just so horrible.
