Real life long friendship is a sacred trust and I agree with others that is takes time to develop. However, you can often know early on whether a person has the qualities to become that kind of friend but it takes time to prove it all out. I always think it is funny when people say, "let's just be friends" when to me, friendship is the strongest bond...my friends know they can count on me at 2am if they need me.
