leather sofa

hey all just need your help guys and girls, I bought a sofa from DFS just over a year ago and one of the seats has gone saggy now have rang the company and someone is coming round tomorrow but have been told that they will prob not do naything and blame it on excessive use ?? not sure how you can have excessive use on a 12 mth old sofa. Anybody had dealings with DFS and any idea legally where I stand cheers all

Hi Benny, I think its practically impossible to buy from DFS without taking credit so you need to advise the credit company, via their product complaints department, and if your complaint is deemed valid they have to support you with your claim against DFS. If any payments are due though make sure you still make them while the issue is resolved.

the finance was paid in full about 6 mths after I took it out, so the finance company will no longer be jointly liable

It's not one of those "dodgy" ones from China is it? It would be interesting to find that out..if that was me. They tend to be inferior quality and Watchdog had a spell of going on about Land of Leather a lot..and the dodgy leather sofas that caused people to itch when sitting on them! Awful! I would threaten them with a letter to the Chairman of the company, that usually gets the ball rolling! Good luck!
