no offense to the 'cabalens' here in mylot. it is not your fault that the pretending president came from your province. lol!
it is in the news since yesterday that pampanga's 2nd district got a windfall of funds and projects from the dpwh. it doesn't stop there though, lubao, which is the hometown of gma got the most out of that windfall among the towns located in the 2nd district. now this got me thinking... maybe now is the best time to move to lubao and start buyign property there since the gam is hell bent on winning the congressional seat by pouring funds into the district. i won't be surprised if the 2nd district of pampanga overcomes subic, quezon city, mandaluyong, or makati as one of the premier 'cities' because of the 'support' the district is getting from gma.
don't get me wrong, i feel no envy and i do think that if all these projects can help our fellow countrymen, so be it, fine and well. however, the timing of which some of these projects will be undertaken and the haste of which these were approved casts a doubt about the sincerity of gma in providing relief and help for her 'cabalens'. much more so with her intention of running for the lone congressional seat this coming may elections. also, how about the poorer districts across the country, must they wait to have someone from their part of the province to be president to enjoy the benefits of the government coffers?
feel free to chime in. thoughts, and violent reactiosn are welcome!
... and remember, you're not sharp unless you're scott sharp!!!
cheers!!!

Yes it is very obvious that the president has made special treatment on her kababayans and it is obvious that they are doing this to promote herself since she has declared on running for Congress in her district. I think this practice has been going on since time immemorial. If you can see during the time of the Marcoses the whole of Ilocos region benefited very much in her 20 year of rule. You can see from their roads is far from the roads placed in other areas. Same happened during the time of Cory where Tarlac somehow benefited from her administration.

Yes true what is disgusting about her is she is taking advantage of her last few months in power. The Congressman right now which is her son is actually doing nothing to pave way replacing him and I think there is virtually no competitor on her district right now. The cabalens are quite right now because they are being blessed with lots of projects so why complain about it.
I think it will take sometime to really get rid of this habit of patronizing politicians that are obviously corrupt but just because they benefit from it they would remain mum until their politicians would stop supporting them.

hi rsa!
agree with your observations there. i think places, provinces, town, even to some extent, cities, from which the sitting president came from do enjoy special priveleges by getting a big share of the funds meant for infrastracture projects such as roads, school buildings, markets, and what not.
however, what makes this more appaling is the fact that gma has made it very public about her intentions to run for congress in her hoemtown and clearly from where i stand, all the efforts and time she spent with her cabalens is rooted in some ill will becuase she is expecting to reap the benefits of all these projects by being elected as their represnetatvie in congress in the 2010 elections.
that clearly gets the thumbs down
in my book. clear abuse of power on the part of gma and she clearly benefits form her actions no matter how noble these may seem.

Well and good for those residing in Lubao, lets just hope she doesn't win so she will have to look for another place like Iligan where she is also from. I just hope that her puppets in congress will still be around for the next 3 three years to provide the kind of assistance they gave to Lubao. Iligan can surely use more funding from her. This coming elections will be a test to those residing in Lubao if their vote can be bought or not.

hi ybong!
nice point you raised there. the coming elections is a litmus test for the residents of pampanga's 2nd district, would they vote or nto vote for gma knowing her ulterior motives? seems the residents are hard-pressed to vote for gma since the alternative candidate is a virtual unknown and private citizen and the situation in the 2nd district is similar to that of david and goliath? this goliath being able to count on the government coffers as her election warchest. anyway, hopefully, this whole situation pans out right for everyone in the country.
cheers!!!

i will move to the second district of pampanga for a different reason; that is to vote against gma. she epitomizes a person drowning in power and thirsting for more an extended reign through a seat in congress, and eventually a prime minister in all likelihood, is a sign that she does not want to leave the corridors of power. she wants to perpetuate herself in power. the case you pointed out of the special attention spent to lubao and the 2nd district of pampanga is expected of someone who knows how to bribe the right people to keep herself in power. and no need for apology to cabalens, they may as well know it.

lol mensab!
great first statement there.
great points you raised there mensab. all signs seem to point to that direction, gma taking a congressional seat and then installing herself as speaker of the house and then leading the movement to be a parliament and then installing hereself as prime minister. sure, others might scoff at the idea and say that it will take a lot of work for all of these events to happen but certainly one can't deny that gma is already laying down the ground work for it. nothing wrong with being vigilant and making gma realize that there are those who oppose her actions. funny thing that you should mention about bribing and gma, 'hello garci' suddenly comes to my mind. lol! certainly no laughing matter but been thinking that with all that gma is doing and not doing, she is cashing out all her good karma points and building up the bad ones at an impressive rate. not sure if you believe those stuff but karma is a bit@h and it'll bite back gma in a big way.
just my thoughts.
cheers!!!
