I feel that although Michael Jordan is currently the best player of all time I can see Kobe Bryant passing him as the best by the time he retires. Kobe is nearly there in my opinion.

Yep, You just need to look at Kobe's 55 points against Michael Jordan in their last game against each other to show how close it is.

Kobe Bryant is a fantastic player but in my opinion nowadays theree aren't any basketball player that's better than Michael Jordan. He was very intelligent and did things that anyone players can do!!!!!!!

Thank you for your opinion, I know it is really hard to beat what Michael Jordan did for the sport and someway somehow Kobe as to date is the closest thing to him I think.

No brainer. Here's how you know who's better. Ask anyone during the Jordan era who the best was, they'd say MJ is the best. Ask anyone who's the best now, the boat is divided between Kobe and LBJ. That goes to show you that Kobe has not gained the same level of "greatness" that MJ had. I doubt he ever will actually, but if there is anyone closest to that level, that would be Kobe. Why Jordan is better? Jordan dominated the game in all aspects. He has highlights in almost any category possible. Chicago has never won an NBA title without Jordan. He fills up on all the recorded stats. Even people who don't play basketball know Michael Jordan. That's how great he is. And Kobe just isn't there yet.

You have a point, maybe Kobe is the closest thing to Michael right now, but then Michael set the standard too high that a player who has the same dedication and passion to basketball just like Michael Jordan did have, maybe can achieve or even surpass Michael's greatness. But right now, no one is really close to that.
