where can I get paid to submit my short stories

I have a few short stories that I have been working on for a few months now. I had taken a creative writing class in high school, but have never had anything published. Are there any sites where I can publish my short stories on and get paid for them? I am not looking to get rich, just want to make a few extra bucks.

Thank you very much for the information and the advice. I can not wait to start writing again and get things published. I took a creative writing class and really enjoyed it. It is great that I am able to use the skills I have learned to make a little extra money.

I've yet to submit anything that I've written, but I really do want to thank you for starting this discussion because my next thing that I want to get started with is writing online so that I can earn a little more extra money and if you had not started this discussion, then I would really not have known where to start. This kind of information is invaluable for people that are really just now trying to get started. Thanks again.

I am glad I can help. I need money also since the economy has taken a big hit. I am trying to make more money on here as well as trying to find other ways to make money. I have been cutting back on a lot of expenses. I eat out less and make three big meals a week which gives us plenty of left overs.
I love this site also. I have made some great friends on here. I like being able to make friends on here since I really do not get out much.

Personally I think it really depends on what type of exposure you want to have with your published work, and the type of writing that it is to what place is the Best for submitting some of your work, and by now have found some Good places and made a little bit off of them as well. I know myself I have articles and such I have written yet to submit somewhere as well.

Associatedcontent is cool. You might want to submit there for page view earnings. If you are not from US, you can definitely try out for this, just like me too..

wow. what a great discussion. i've been reading through some of the repies because i also have many times thought of extending my writing skills. i've written and wanted to write since i was a child. wrote stories,poems, and songs only read by my mom. its the only thing she ever encouraged about me. but, i got caught up in raising 5 kids and 5 husbands
so it got away from me. been thinking of trying it again. good luck to you friend.

i, randy. There's a site that i know who pay you for your article, checkout fanstory. Definitely you're going to enjoy the site because you can get some advice in other users and if you want get a review from the article you posted. It's a god start for someone ike yo who is aiming to enhance the writing skills. Good luck to you.

As far as I am concerned, I think you must love the writing so much. Now I think I have a good place for you to publish your articles.I just want to tell you that it just publish on the internet. The web is called Triond where I usually go to. It really help you a loy in publish your writings.
