Does cottage cheese go with everything?

I have just rediscovered cottage cheese! I have it at lunch when it is on the salad bar. IT goes great with a salad or with fruit. I have eaten it by itself or with salt and pepper. It's even good in jello. It has calcium (whch is needful since I really don't like milk!) and potien. It's like the best all around go-with-everything type dish. Do you use cottage cheese? What do you like to eat it with?

I love cottage cheese. Most of the time I eat it with just a little pepper on it. Sometimes I will drizzle a little French dressing on it too. I love it in salads. I don't normally eat it with fruit although I know lots of people who do. It is good in mashed potatoes too. You make up the potatoes and stir in some cottage cheese and bake it.

I haven't heard of putting cottage cheese in potatoes. When I get a home againg I'll have to try it. Is that all you put in the dish?

cottage cheese? I eat cottage cheese very seldom or can say never before. In my memory, I have chance to taste it on a company lunch. About two months ago, company provided to everyone the lunch for free - a sandwish, some vegetables, some beef and a piece of cottage cheese. But I have never ate cottage cheese before, so I gave up it. The next day, I saw it still putted on my desk, I wanna to taste it but still no courage so gave up again. That time is that I am closer to the cottage cheese.

Sounds like you've got the cottage cheese thing down. I love it with fruit. Rather than plain salt, I use lemon pepper. That adds just the right amount of zing. If you make Lasagne, cottage cheese makes a great substitute for the ricotta cheese. It is less fattening.

I forgot it was good in dishes like lasagna too! I haven't tried the lemon pepper but I will have to look into that it at least sounds interesting!

Oddly, cottage cheese is the only cheese that I do not care for. I have tried to learn to enjoy it, but just cannot seem to develop a taste for it. My mother absolutely loves cottage cheese. Like you, she enjoys it plain with just salt and pepper but also loves it with diced peaches stirred into it. She has also eaten it with mandarin oraanges, strawberrries and various other fruits. One time she dumped a can of fruit cocktail (minus the liquid)into a container of cottage cheese and ate the entire thing! Like other cheeses, it is a good source of calcium.

I think so. Cottage cheese can go with my fruit or vegetable salad. It can also go with my bread or just eating it by itself. I can also make cheese stick out of it. Even my dogs have a thing for cheese.

I love cottage cheese - it works well for so many things and goes great with such a variety of foods! I eat it for a snack or sometimes for breakfast, or serve it along side lunch or dinner. I've even got my young daughter to eat it! I enjoy it most plain or with fruit such as pineapple or peaches. It works well as a filling for crepes. My dad and his grandmother have always enjoyed cottage cheese with apple or mint jelly mixed in. Enjoy your new adventures in cottage cheese!

I'm a big fan of cottage cheese as well! It's so yummy, it totally can be eaten all by itself. I really like it's nutritional value, too. I'm a vegetarian and I often struggle to get the right amount of protein so I try to get my hands on as much dairy as I can get into my mouth. After I eat cottage cheese, I feel like I have an energy boost. And it's not like a jittery unhealthy coffee/caffeine jolt. It's completely good for me. :)
