Alcoholic Cocktails. Which Is The Most Potent?

I tend to be a lager drinker when I'm out and about, but I will drink cider as not all establishments stock the lager I like. On holiday I always tend to go a bit "mad" with drink, as one does when one is on holiday lol. One incident that crosses my mind was in Calella, Spain with a friend of mine, Caroline. Now, Caroline could drink anyone under the table but alcohol could make her sick, whereas I was puke free! Anyway, the first night in the Hotel Balmes we decided to stay there as opposed to sampling the delights of the resort, as we hadn't been there for long so got dressed up and sidled down into the bar, with the intention of only having "a couple" before calling it a night. However, once we eyed up the Cocktail Menu that was it, we decided to work our way down the list...and there were at least 20 of them, each Cocktail having a description of what was in them. Anyhow, when it came to the Manhattan Cocktail (about half-way down the list) I was dismayed to learn that it was in a small glass as opposed to the tall glasses for the previous ones. The bartender just laughed and said something like, "You wait, you wait and see!" before handing over the glass to me. Upon drinking it I felt fine and couldn't think what all the fuss was about. HOWEVER, once I got up off the barstool to go to the loo a few yards away, I practically fell over in a heap and it took me AGES to get there. My legs had just given way and I was weaving from side to side uncontrollably in a very embarrassing manner! All I could hear were cackles of laughter coming from the bartender and my smug friend and when I came back they shook their heads as if to say, "Told you so!" Oh dear, never again (she says) hehe lol.

I had a little round with jauger bombs on Christmas Eve. They are very small but man..I had a headache for two days over that stuff. I made a lot of new friends though..lol. I am very social when I'm drinking the jauger bombs it seems.

Hi Janey1966, It really depends on who mixes the cocktail We used to all go to a cocktail bar on a Friday for happy hour and one cocktail that sticks out in my mind was called a Bodybag, I can not remember what was in it or how it was mixed but it was very strong. Also a red witch can be pretty potent too

I tend to make the Red witches when ever there is a party or occasion, they are not for everyone but they have a hell of a kick

So Red Witches are still alive and well are they? Excellent! Although I won't be drinking one anytime soon!

Well, it never does to mix drinks... The night before my older sister got married, everyone was getting her drinks... different kinds, including zombies... She was rather green at her own wedding.

Is that the drink where lager and bitter is mixed with creme de menthe to make it green? It's called a Mould in Blackpool and a friend of mine called Gonzo (and yes, he did look like the Muppet of the same name) was hooked on them for a time. Horrible drink!

There are various recipes for zombies, but basically it's a mixture of different liquors and pineapple or orange juice. I'm not sure what went into hers. (It was 1970.)
