I know that there are browser growing in amount. Back at 90's there seems only Internet Explorer (IE) to use. Nowadays, there is firefox, opera, even google launch its own chrome lately. Until now, i found out that chrome is still the fastest, beating firefox. But i hear there is another browser such as safari and netskape. So what do you think guys? Should i try safari?

Netscape is Apple's answer to Microsoft's Internet Explorer and has been around for a long time, although it never reached IE's popularity. Safari, also an Apple thing, was developed for the Mac OS in 2003. Safari 4 can be downloaded to a Mac or PC. No harm in trying it. If you don't like it, you can uninstall it.

ACK! You are absolutely right. *blushing* AOL was a big promoter of Netscape, weren't they? I believe they acquired Netscape in the '90s. AOL, Apple -- easy mistake. No? Not buying it, huh? Kidding aside, I stand corrected and apologize for the misinformation. (Teach me to run off at the Submit button, instead of the Preview. *nervous giggle*)

Well in early computing times netscape used to be the ruler of all browsers(also it was the only one ).Its market share was around 99% but then internet explorer was launched by the windows corp. and gained the marketshare soon. Opera seems to be the only browser that has cleared the level 2 test and is the most reliable according to me.None other browser cleared those test not even firefox.. Aplle Safari is best suited for apple systems(mac). It will not give maximun speed on a windows system. It definetly is a good browser and you should try it. Have a nice day..

so according to you netscape is the first browser ever? well, i don't know the story very clear. i thought that internet explorer is the first browser. so how come the market share is overtaken by IE anyway.. well, good day to you too. thanks for the explanation.

Well thanks for asking that. Actually IE was better than netscape and the windows guys used to give it preinstalled on their systems.Hence it got popular and not many of us knew too many browsers thus taking IE to be the only one and using it. And just for knoledge sake the netscape team started developing the browser we noe know as firefox(not mozilla firfox..it came later than firefox).

wow. you got a pretty much of information. do you have an affiliation in IT industry. i actually confused when you say that netspace is the pre-development of firefox, but not mozilla firefox. the only firefox i know is mozilla firefox.

Safari is for Mac computers. Although I can't call myself a fan of MAC I have to say....I'm not really a fan of safari either. One thing in particular, it's very bad on a public computer as it doesn't close when pressing X. if you fail to close the tabs properly, the next person who uses it will be privy to all your information.

this is a brand new comment i heard. until now, i never heard such a case you mentioned. if safari doesn't close when i press x, i think it is rather risky. do you have another experience regarding safari? that's really help to decide.

Naw, Firefox or Chrome is the way to go. Personally I go with chrome cause its quick, responsive, and stays out of my way. Which is perfect for a browser. I'm over clunky slow interfaces. I used to use firefox but it was just far to slow in opening and stuff. Don't waste your time on safari though ai.

Safari is best known browser for mac for windows its not so great i have tried safari it has great interface and new safari has a lot of features but it all comes down to on thing that is a noticeable browsing speed which can be seen only with chrome rest all seem same to me except IE it is slow presently i m using opera it has great features and its fast too better than Firefox. You can give it a shot browsing speed matter more when we are talking about slow internet connections only.So if you have good internet speed then u can use any browser depending up on what are your need and what feature you are looking for in browsers.

Hey! I'm using Safari at the moment. I really like the design. Safari is quite fast and I don't any problems with it. So, I think you can check this browser out. I think you will like it! Cheers, mate!
