I love to crochet hats. It seems I make one every month. I try to sell some, and some I wear. I usually make tam and beanie. I was looking at a cloche hat,and I see some cute ones on Etsy. I am thinking it would be nice to make a couple for church. I was curious if anyone love to crochet hats, and if you have crochet a cloche hat?

Hi Venshida, Same here i love doing crochet. i never make a hat. i am more on blouses, clothes/dresses, bags, skirts, belts and headbands. i started with it as a hobby...a hobby passed on to me by my mom. now it's a productive hobby. our family is into exporting our product. mom, my sister and i help each other do crochet--made to order crochets. it's a good business especially now that summer is fast approaching, here in our country!

I like to crochet, although I've mostly done scarves. I've done a few hats for kids, but never a cloche hat.

Maybe I'll try one, since I have a student who loves hats. A cloche hat would be great for her.

I was on a huge hat kick for a while and had quite a collection of them made. My favorite ones were based on pictures of flapper hats I saw on the internet. I tried to sell them, but It didn't work out very well. I ended up donating them to my church. They run a coat closet where people in need can get coats, hats, mittens etc. for free. While most people are just looking for a bit of warmth, they tend to appreciate fun and pretty as well and my hats ended up being well received. I have an Etsy shop as well where I have posted a couple "theme hats" for babies. I rarely give these away just because there is so much work that goes into them, but they are so cute. All of them are made on a helmet-type ear flap base. From there I crochet embellishments that transforms them into wearable elephants, ducks, apples etc. I even had the honor of making a penguin hat for the singer Kimya Dawson's daughter Panda! It was so neat to do that!

I know what you mean about selling hats. I don't sell a lot either. I think they might become a charity donation. I going to check your Etsy shop out.

Hello, I just joined here and would like to share my opinion about crochet. Im currently crocheting a hat, 7 more rows and I will finish the hat, it is my 1st hat project and I hope to finish it tomorrow. I learnt the pattern from Teresa, a crochet guru on youtube, she uploaded so many crochet tutorials and hats pattern. Crocheting hat is not really hard if we have mastered the basic crochet. I have plan to crochet more hats and will give it as gift. My next project is to crochet baby blanket. Im happy to meet people who have same interest and wish to discuss more about crochet.
