i am curious as to see what the going rate these days are for the "tooth fairy" When i was growing up we would get .25 cents for regular teeth and .50 cents for the back teeth.. My daughter gets $1.00 per tooth from the tooth fairy. My sister and her husband think that is insane.. not insane that it is too much insane that it is too little there children get anywhere from $5.00 to $8.00 per tooth.. now i think that is INSANE... what about you? what does the tooth fairy bring your children for there teeth?

When my son lost his first tooth he got €10.00, then after she became fiver fairy. He has only lost two teeth and is nearly 8, so one day i think he,ll have a lot of fivers, she leaves lovely letters for him from (the net)like reward for looking after tooth and how it was glemming when she found etc. :-)

When my kids were growing up and losing their teeth (1980-90), they would get 50p or £1 (that's roughly $1 - $2), which was the largest value coin in those days. I think that my grand daughter gets the largest value coin which is £2 ($3 to $4).
I don't recall there every being a premium for a molar and the tooth fairy in our house ALWAYS gives one for one! (I don't think there are $8 bills, LOL).
To me, it would make a lot more sense to reward a dental check up that showed 'no fillings needed'. That would, indeed, reward good for good ... after all, the tooth fairy takes away the old teeth but brings new ones that need taking care of because they have to last you the rest of your life!

My grand daughter is pretty good, I have to say. She saves her money for big things but many kids will take their tooth fairy money to the store and buy candy and cola!
