Selling on Etsy

I was looking into putting a few of my items that I have made onto the internet site Etsy and see if I could sell any of them here and there and I was wondering if there was anyone else that sells on there and what you think of it? Does it seems to get pretty decent traffic for sales or not really? Any input would be appreciated Thanks

Oh yes I am sure that the sales are much better on eBay because they are much more popular but that also means that you have to pay more...thanks a bunch for your response whiteheather

Hello there Froggieslover! If you want to get traffic on your esty, you should grab some affiliates and post your shop onto your blog or website. An alternative way is to create something so horrendous it ends up on regretsy.com, which also a good way to get traffic and increase sales. Despite the title, people actually do buy stuff featured on Regretsy. It all depends on what you are making.

I know people who sell there, but I haven't done any buying or selling there myself. It's kind of not on my radar and I don't usually go look there unless somebody asks me to. PS if you do get some stuff on there, feel free to PM me with the info...

My ex daughter in law sells things on there. It is a site that doesn't have much popularity yet but is on the rise. You could do good on there. You also can sell on ebay or amazon as well. I think they maybe having a special on selling fees right now. Most site do have selling fees. So check and see what their cost is for that first.

I checked into the fees and they are actually really cheap..something like 20 cents per item but that allows that listing to go for four months. I have also looked into Amazon, I think I might list there as well but I am trying to avoid Ebay as much as I can just because their fees are really starting to get out of hand in my opinion. Thanks a bunch for your response rose....

You are welcome froggie. That is what I have heard about ebay. I haven't sold anything on there in a long time, but I did try to buy something over the holidays and they too was going for way too much. I wish you the best.

I have a friend that does canvass paintings and sells them on Etsy. She says that she does a decent job on there. I've considered using it before myself, but what I make is more obscure and requires a specific kind of customer so I don't know if that would be the right niche for me. I don't know what you were thinking about selling so you might look around on there and see if what you've made is something that is popular on there.
