Can Anyone Tell Me Why Tea/Coffee Stains Fine Bone China But Not Ceramic Mugs?

I find this puzzling. I mean; I know how to get tea and coffee stains off fine bone china mugs (bleach) but why does it happen in the first place, does anyone know? We have a combination of the more expensive fine bone china mugs and bog-standard ceramic ones and the latter never have stains on them. It's very disconcerting and a tad annoying, actually!

Do they really? How strange! The thing is though I don't like the ceramic mugs even though they'd make my life a lot easier if I did.
