Have you ever had a project in school or even work, that no matter how frustrating it seemed, you were determined to complete it? No matter how many hours you burned in your life, you were determined to see it through and accomplish the goal of completing it successfully. I have had quite a few of these, especially in school. The one that comes to mind is when I was coding a web page. No matter what I did, not everything would line up right. I worked on it day after day, perhaps more hours than I should. I managed to get it done just literally a couple of hours before it was due. It was some absurdly simple situation as well. So was there something that no matter how frustrating it was, you were determined to complete this thing successfully? And did you succeed or fail despite your absolute best efforts?

Yep - I had that problem with a class last semester. This teacher is a complete jerk. He is rude to all of his students, gives awful tests, and likes to make everyone feel like they are stupid. I refused to drop the class because it would mean I would not graduate on time and he was not worth it. I ended up passing the class - not with an amazing grade, mind you, but I did pass it. I have him again this semester and I think he respects me a bit more because despite all he threw at me I continued and even took him again. Our class started with 60 people. Only 18 finished and passed.

Talk about an exercise of frustration. To see that many people fold out of a fairly decent size class is just staggering. Congratulations on getting through that, even if it was just barely. Sometimes surviving the class is better than nothing. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated.

I've always been this way. I learned it from my parents when I was very young and it is a lesson that I have always carried with me since then. I remember the first project that I ever felt like giving up on was when I was in eighth grade and it was supposed to be a partner project but my partner fell through on me so I was stuck at the last minute doing it all myself. My parents wouldn't let me give up and I'm glad that I didn't because in the end I did a good job on it and ended up with an "A" for both myself and my deadbeat partner

Oh yes, partner projects can be one of the most difficult things to stick with when the partner decides not hold up their end or disappears. I remember when I had a partner project in high school. The person I was teaming with had left, I forgot whether they dropped out or just was expelled, I forgot which. It was something that looked to be a hard task but I managed to stick though and got one of the better grades in the class. Still, doing a project meant for two along can be challenging. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated.

try writting a novel sometime. That by far was the biggest thing i had set out to do. It took me a little over a month and was 71,000 words. It was hard, frustrating and took alot of time away from my family but when i was finished I was so proud of myself because it was something I thought i would never be able to do. after all you have these guys like king and koones that can pump out books so fast it makes my head spin but when you read them its the same system- the surprises may be different but the plot line is the same. so yeah all i can say is don't give up. keep going and get through it. there is a song out there if you are going through hell keep on going you might make it out before the devil knows youre there.

You are determined,I think it is a good character for you.Everything is the same,as long as you stack to it,it will get well done.I also want to stack to it,but sometimes i cannot control myself well.sometimes i was determind to complete it no matter how frustating it was.

Determined or stubborn, either can be a good trait. It can lead to great success, rather than a person who just goes through the motion. Sticking to a steady goal is very important. Otherwise, what's the point in trying to do anything, if you're not going to stick with it to the very end? Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated.

Hi megamatt, good day to you. Well, we have a thesis in school and honestly it takes time to finish it. Effort and dedication of heart is needed in order to pass it. No matter what happen we still continue our project because this is needed in order to graduate in college. We do not know if we can able to pass it or fail it but one thing is putted to our mind, which is to have a helpful thesis that will give benefits to everyone especially to other students like me.

Good day to you as well, online_jon. Thesis, even if you start from the beginning, it can be be a scramble to get it completed. There is a lot of hard work and dedication, I agree one hundred percent. Its rewarding when its done. The culmination of hard work and everything. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated.

Sometimes when I'm doing different crafts I've had this kind of frustration and have gotten in the "I will not give up" mindset. I'm always glad when I have kept at it. However, there have been times when I haven't kept with it and have felt that it wasn't worth the time and effort to stay with it. I think that's okay too. For example, I've tried to learn to crochet several times and can't get the sides to remain straight. I know that eventualy I could get it but I decided not to continue. It's all a matter of priority. I decided instead to concentrate on knitting which I really enjoy. I think that persistence is one of the biggest lessons one learns in college. In college assignments have to be done and I developed the mantra "get it done even if it's wrong". Most of the time I was pleased with the results; it usually came out better than I expected."

"Get it done, even if it's wrong" is a good motto to follow for college assignments or really schooling of any time. I mean, you're going to get some credit for getting something done. Its better than getting a big fat zero for getting nothing in. Keeping at something and then succeeding after never giving up is the greatest reward. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated.

Yeah, i always set a deadline and i do not wait to be inspire as i like to accomplish certain things do it instead with quality not based on quantity alone. it may be slow or fast depending on my momentum and amount of dedication. but, once i set a goal i set a time to finish it even their may be lot of obstacles i still carry out my task. Their may be hang up or even bad days bit i would not myself affected of it as I may slow down but still continue working on my targeted goals and would not stop until i complete it.

Well, i have fallen in such situations many times, but I have never gave up, I always keep going and keep it up. Because I know, that if I want something I must pay the price for it, no matter how big it is! Every one must know where are his/her limits and if he/she can reach his/her aims, because it is very important to know your strengths and weaknesses

Absolutely, getting it done is important. Knowing our limits help. Still there is a difference between knowing our limits and being defined by our limits. Sometimes we can push ourselves a bit further. I know I have and more times often than not, I get the project done by doing this. Never give up, that's a motto, almost like an obsession during these stressful periods of completing the task. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated.

I remember when I was in college, I have to complete the project no matter what. And indeed, we have to spend time on it, research, and the actual writing, to the final draft. We have to do absolutely everything to get it done. It is the project the cost a lot of credit. If we don't want to fail, we have to finish it no matter what.

Absolutely correct it has to be done. It can get tense at times. Especially when the due date gets closer and there is still work to be done. To the point where I never want to see this project is ever again but it has to be done. The actual reward of getting credit for it will pay off in the end. A key difference between pass and fail is one who works until the very end I believe. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated.
