Mylot level question?

I searched the site, but I can't seem to find my answer. What is the levels about? Do they serve a purpose? Also how do you level up? I seem to be having trouble understanding the purpose of levels.

hi Wickedlove,you can find all your levels in the corresponding intersts on your profile page and the more you particpate in here you would climb the ladder so try to start many discussions and respond to many discussions---so you get to watch your levels climbing.great day.
