I just finished reading Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. The story talks about freemasonry. i somehow have a connection regarding the subject because my dad was a mason. It is but true that when you belong to this group, you have an edge with regards to your jobs or businesses. When a fellow mason knows you are a son or daughter or wife of a mason, they tend to give privileges or make things easy for you. When i was reading the book and encountered words or phrases, i would said aloud, i wish dad is still alive so i can ask him what is said in the book regarding masonry. We are aware of the rites made by them because my 2 sisters also had a group children of the masons which is Jobs Daughters. During dad's wake, the Masons did a ceremony for my dad and they did everything from my dad's wake until the burial. Even dad is no longer around, the Masons still acknowledge us and invite us during their gatherings. I am proud we belong to this circle. miss you daddy.

The book was really good. Very intriguing and couldn't put it down. However the ending was pretty weak. Hidden texts I'm the bible as the ancient wisdom. Expected something more. Having read the book is there any need to ascend to 33rd degree?
