People who know that I'm left-handed always tell me these bizarre stories about how left handers are naturally smart, child of the devil, or the reason I'm left-handed is due to my brain being damaged. Where do people come up with these outrageous ideas? If you're left handed, were you ever a victim of these ridiculous comments? Please explain.

hi, tangurama. i am left handed also but i don't feel any difference from others. there are a few students in my class which are left handers. however, i remember that i've read some articles about this issues. some of them mentioned that left handers are smarter, genius and full of creativity. some even stated that left handers have a shorter lifespan.

Hi Huey, thanks for the reply. I know being left-handed doesn't make us any different from others, but sometimes it makes me feel unique because not many people are left-handed, and I feel like I have an important purpose in life. You might think I'm weird to thinking so, but that's just my imagination talking.

Hey, tangurama. Well, I'm not left hander, but I've heard many stories about them aswell. As the response above me mentioned, it is said that left handers live shorter. Actually I don't believe in such things. In my opinion, being left or right handed depends on which half of brain you are using for such things as writing etc. This should not affect anything except that that side of the brain could become more effective than other. And if you're right handed then it's all the same, but the side changes. Don't know how much of this is truth, but that's what I think. :) Mindaugas.

That is very true zuokula. I've heard that if you're left handed, your right brain dominate, but if you're right handed, you're left brain dominate. Some people are in between and use both sides of their brains equally.
