Notification Problems – Please Help!

I am absolutely certain that I never receive notifications when my friend'lilybug' starts a discussion (and she does not receive mine either). I never receive notifications: - when someone sends me a friend request - when myLot sends me an alert - when I am awarded a best response - when I receive a private message ALL the above are set to 'on'. Keep up the good work!

To the best of my knowledge I only have a problem with notifications when certain friends post new discussions. Those friends are: nyhollyjean james72 cloudwatcher wizzywig jellymonty xfahctor I have notifications turned on for all these people. I have also tried turning them off and turning them back on. I never get notifications for their original discussions, but I do get notifications if I reply to their discussions and they respond back to me or if they reply to my discussions. Hope this helps.

Geez, if I would have known we'd have a quiz I would have studied up on the matter! LOL I don't receive notifications for "wonttakelong". I also never received any for vicki2876, but it doesn't matter much now as apparently she dropped me as a friend after I told her about it. At least I'm guessing she did anyway, because I know I didn't delete her from my friends list. There are some others that I know that I set on, but never received any notifications for them either, even though I have seen new discussions started by them on mylot directly through the "discussions my friends started" page. Unfortunately, with having such a large friends list I can't say for certain who they are anymore, as I haven't kept track. I also don't always receive notifications when someone comments to a response or comment that I made. Sometimes, although rarely I don't get notified when someone responds to a discussion that I started either. And when it comes to PM's, although I do receive notifications for primary PM's I don't always receive them for continued PM's from the same member. In other words I receive notification for the first PM, but if I answer them and then they answer back I may not get notified about it. Oh, and it looks as though I didn't receive an alert for this discussion either. That's about all I can think of at the moment. I'll be sure to mention any more if I remember! Happy mylotting!

I would like to receive notification about the discussion I report. Because several days ago I reported a discussion that should be deleted because is a "poll" discussion (I learned this because a discussion I started about pasta or pizza was deleted for this reason), but till now the discussion is still online. And I would like to know if my report was received, and if so, why the discussion is still online. So I will be able to better understand the rules, and write discussions according to the rules here. Just to let you know the discussion I reported is this one: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2262989.aspx As you can see the writer explain his opinion about how he prefere eat pizza, then ask the members to say if they prefere use fork or hands. Just like I explained why I prefere pasta than pizza and asked people to say with one they like more. The only difference I can see, is the name of the discussion owner, as well as his star number. So, could someone of the staff explain me the differences I'm not be able to find myself? I'm pretty sure this could help all mylotters, and a notification of our reports, as well as a notification of the reasons our reports are declined or accepted could help all the members to better understand the rules here. I always turn on all of my notification, all fine except someone send me a friend request.

I am missing some notifications... Notifications when friends started discussions are working well on me. Lately, I noticed that only few are responding and commenting on me, I thought some are just inactive lately however I was surprise for when I checked my previous discussions there are some new responses and comments...

I have all the notification options turned 'on' in preferences and all friends are 'notify off' The following functions are NOT working: email me when someone sends me a friend request email me when myLot sends me an alert I have only just realised that I do not receive notifications when people ask to be added to my friends list. I do, however, receive notifications when friends accept my invitations. The only time I WOULD like to receive notification of a new discussion is when an Admin sends an alert/posts a discussion (I would find this more helpful than an Alert because once opened, an alert cannot be saved or re-read). [Note: I was not aware until just now that this ought to be the case.] I do receive notifications when people respond to my discussions and when comments are added to a response I gave. Both of these appear to work most of the time but occasionally do not. Unfortunately I can't locate a specific example but it seems that, when a thread becomes quite long, notifications do not always work. If my only contribution to a discussion was as a comment to a response, I don't think that I get a notification if someone comments below my comment.

Hi Alice, I don't have a problem with notifications in general but I notice that some (not all) myLot notifications have been going into my Spam folder recently. (I use Gmail.) Unfortunately, I don't have any examples to provide but I don't think those notifications marked spam contain anything that warrants a spam but I wouldn't really know.

I am not receiving all my friends notification too even though I have set them to 'on'. I only come to know that my friends have posted discussion when I check on the friends started column. This is only affect some friends though. I don't know where the fault is. Maybe you can help us in this department.

Hi Alice, I´m not recieving notifications in my mail when my friends start a discussion or when someone answers or comments one of my posts. I know I can do it from the inside of mylot (checking at "discussins-started" or "discussions-my friends started")But I find easier and less time consuming doing it the other way. I hope this gets fixed. Thanks

I am not sure whether or not this is the right place for this, but I figured it would be a good place to start. I know that a few days ago people were having problems rating, and I thought that got cleared up. I heard from several people that they are now able to rate. Over the past few days there are times when it has worked for me and I have been able to rate, and then there have been other time when I haven't (usually it is from one day to the next as far as I can tell). This is not an issue of not being able to rate more than 11 times per day, either, as some of the people that I have tried to rate I do not normally see on a daily basis not to mention that if I wasn't able to rate anyone the day before then I should be able to rate anyone the next day without exceeding any limit. I was wondering whether it is an on-going problem that you are aware of or perhaps it is something browser specific or maybe it is something entirely different.

Hi ms. alice... I turned on my notification to Mr. lamb but I never received any. He is just one of those people that I don't receive any. Zero notifications since I changed it. I also added the mylot admins mail but I still did not receive any

I haven't got any notifications in the 24h or something in fact... A few days ago, they started coming later and later, but now I don't get them at all Please fix this if you can, because I know you can

It will not let me change my email address. Every time I hit update it just pops up a white screen and nothing happens

I have everyone on my friends list on notify and I have not got one notification yet from any of them. Maybe I am doing something wrong or maybe its my account but I figured I would bring it to your attention.

Hi goaskalice, i've been here for awhile(3-4 months), but i've never encountered the sort of problems that you have put up. I'm quite satisfied with mylot and i hope to stay here for a very looooooooong time! Thank you.
