my pen drive works in linux but not in xp

hi friends, iam having a transcend 4gb pen drive. i have two os xp and linux installed in my computer. But my pendrive works in Linux but not in xp. It shows as "unknown device" and "USB NOT RECOGNISED". ive checked this out in disk management but the windows doesn't show a device named portable device. It is also not displaying any icon of my pen drive in my computer. pls help me to rectify this error

Did you tried the Flash drive in another windows system? If it works,Try formatting the drive in that system having windows OS. This may fix the issue..

windows is developed by GUI.it's an user friendly operating system.it has many disadvantages in that operating system,when we compare it to Linux operating system, the Linux O.S thousand times more better windows O.S.i prefer you that please use Linux O.S. only because it also a free source O.S.just delete the windows O.S.it made many problems to my hard disk. the same problem occur in myself also. the windows is just an user friendly that's all,no other features are available in that.but in Linux O.S. is the best O.S. according to me. in windows we can't access the internet without anti virus software,it is must in all windows O.S.you may just throw out it from your computer.

you are 100% correct.But im using both xp and linux. My friends all of them are using xp in order to share the files with them i need my pendrive to work.pls suggest me a way
