Is there no escape?

I don't buy soft drinks very often but did so over the holidays and found it was impossible to find any that didn't have artificial sweetners in.
If a drink has the full compliment of sugar why does it need aspartame or saccharine as well?
Did you realise that this was happening? Is it to cut costs or is there are more sinister reason for these chemical additives?

I have no idea, but you're right. 'Fake' sugars like Aspartame are EVERYWHERE, it's ridiculous! I think your best bet is probably to stop drinking the sugary AND fake sugary drinks in general, or switch to an organic brand - that you can trust not to 'cheat' you into drinking fake/over-processed sugars.
