Hey guys. So over a year ago I got a video camera for Christmas from my now ex-girlfriend and I realized recently that I don't use it very much. I mean I have an 8GB SD card and everything but just don't use it much. I live in a relatively pretty neighborhood but am not sure if people would be interested in seeing videos of me walking around my area. The main thing is I don't do much that I feel the need to video tape any more, used to but here lately not so much. So I figured somebody might want to watch something I could tape. Any suggestions on how to use my camera? Just looking for some inspiration.

I second nautilus, start taking your camera with you when you go out, and soon you'll find something to make a video off. Do you have children or pets, or friends with children or pets that could be a good subject to start with. Just film a bit where you live, maybe you have some friends that are active in a sport or with music etc? Check online to see if there's anything interesting happening near you, and definitly take it with you if you go travellling.

Definitely good advice from you guys. I will just start carrying it with me everywhere, I really want to get a digital camera as well. My video camera takes stills but only at 8 Megapixels and you can get a 10+MP digital camera pretty cheap. Might wait till next Thanksgiving though and hit a blitz/black friday sale and get something pretty good for really cheap.

I was thinking of something with about 10-12 MP probably a smaller camera that wouldn't accept added lenses. Most likely would look for high optical zoom as well. I am most likely not going to get an SLR style camera unless I really think I will like photography

HI! I also have a camera and I use it often. You can take it with you when you go out or somewhere and shoot something interesting. You can make some funny videos or video collages, or you can join some site, which pays for video uploading and make even money with it! They are some many opportunities!

I guess I just need to be more open with what I should shoot. Start just taking it with me everywhere. Might try that over the next month and see what I find.
