shaking thoughts...

I started being a Christian since I can remember. Maybe, it's all because of being born in a second generation christian family that i got to get hold of this faith at a young age. This is why I was educated to read the Bible. and I read it... But I was astounded when I saw the passage about the Nephilims. Genesis 6:1-4...read it... I can't believe that angels took human women as their wives and made sons and daughters called Nephilims. I wonder, are there nephilims still here in earth?if there are, they're like immortals!if they are real, then how much more real can a vampire be?

Hi frozen. I don't know to which christian demonination you belong, so the interpretation would vary, but I wil tell you what I know from my theology class. Most figures in the old testament are figurative, unreal. This is not to say that the bible is a lie, but simply that it is representative of something else that has happened, and that the meaning and the spirituality is the real core of the story. I do not know about this story in particular, but I will give you an example - The book of Job, Job never really existed, but his story is a representation of the suffering and questioning human beings constantly does, so Job is anyone of us. If I were you I'd consult a priest, pastor, minister or a theologician about this whole story. :)

How can you make a statement about Job not existing?

yeah..Job has been real since EVER... x.x how can he be not real?he's in the bible!if he's not real, the bible won't be too...and that's not a right equation...i guess... ^_^

Because I told you, I studied some theology and demonology. I have not right to make assersions about the bible without having studied it! And I only studied Demonology and something about Job. :) Job was not a real person, but he was a representation of the Jewish person of the period. Perhaps there was a person similar to him, perhaps there were two persons. Perhaps he had another name. No one has any right to state facts about the bible unless they have properly studied it and know what is in it perfectly! Would you trust a random person to tell you stuff about your body without him ever having dedicated their life to study medicine?
